my 1995 Tahoe 4x4 has brake issues. This morning the brake pedal got very soft and I can push it to the floor. The brake check light on the gauge cluster has come on too. No leaks. Im guessing the master or booster are bad. The one on it is the original with 300k miles lol. I can get a complete master and booster for $150 from rock auto. Is that my best bet?

If I pump them about 3 times it will get some pressure but will then loss it.
Yep. Time for a new set. Inspect all your rubber lines near each wheel as well. A mighty vac will make flushing the system easy if you had one

Also check all the lines to the booster.

Thats what I figured lol I will be ordering the new one soon

Order? Stop being lazy and cheap. You are only talking a few bucks at best. Just go down to the local parts pusher and get a NEW master cylinder. They are cheap enough.

Brakes are the most important thing a vehicle needs to do and do properly. If you have issues, the local guys can handle it a lot faster than the internet.

Are you losing brake fluid? If so look under the truck at the insides of the tires to see if there are any tell-tale signs of a leak from a caliper or wheel cylinder.

Has a problem with a 77 F150. The brake pedal stated to hit the floor. Looked all over and found the reservoir was low and as the brakes wore it could not supply enough fluid. Sucking air!

A quick fill and bleed got me on the road again. Older vehicles had smaller reservoirs.

Another place to look for leak is where the MC attaches to the Booster, if the booster was all wet at the mounting, MC is leaking.

Replace the rubber hoses with braided SS while you have it all apart.
