SUCKS!!!

Fired up the tablet this morn and FF forced an update. Tabs gone, extensions/add-ons gone, password manager gone (have to get another computer and a thumb drive to find them), bookmarks gone.
It mentioned posting a review, I clicked on that & can't find a way, looks like they put the kabash on that as well.

I didn't like it at first. But I'm seeing the benefits. Scroll being at the bottom, I don't have to scroll up to the top of a screen to type in the url box. Also, for the first time in years, I can hit the 'x' and close that annoying tapatalk link that appears on this site.

Easy to add this site to a 'collection', just like a bookmark. Also, you should probably move to something like Lastpass, much safer than storing your passwords in Firefox. Extensions are still there. My uBlockOrigin for Android extension is still there.

I have LastPass, FF doesn't support it now :mad:They only list 9 add ons supported.

Yep I had to start using chrome at work Because it sucks so bad. It wanted me to create a profile and kept deleting all my information when I said no thanks.

Yep they broke it. I cant find anything I like about this. But.. if you can *find* the damned settings you can move the toolbar back to the top.

They are getting flamed pretty good on Google Play. I use Firefox on my desktop but took it off my phone.

Brave > FF (even though Brave is a chrome variant)

Gab's Dissenter browser is better too ;)

Left FF years ago when they jumped on the censorship bandwagon.

Edge is basically Chrome now, just depends if you hate Microsoft or Google more, regardless you have to spend a lot of time in settings to make them right (and dont sign into them).

Hell id put the new Firefox mobile on par with Opera.

Usually when there are any big updates, add-ons get broken for a little bit.
wait a day or two for updates for the add-ons themselves to work with the new program - most of the bigger ones will come up with compliance pretty quick.

Heck I'd be happy with edge too. But work computers switched over to windows 10 wait for it......this year! We are so advanced.

What’s this you speak of?
It has been a few years, but if I remember right they got in on the whole blocking "fake news" sites/stories and promoting "trusted" news sources. Of course they use the usual suspects to decide who is fake and who is trusted.
They were doing some other sketchy stuff with their updates and default settings, etc. Not gulag or microsoft level evil, but doing their part, lol.
Of course with all that facebook, twitter, instagram, etc. are doing these days it is probably pretty tame by comparison.

Maybe they have improved since then, but I have no desire to go back to them. Brave works for nearly everything I do.

It seems to sucketh on a droid platform. It either hasn’t updated on Apple, or it works. LastPass isn’t on the apple.

I do want to thank you all for the heads up- before I opened FF today I disconnected from WiFi, changed the auto-update to not, and started everything back up. No update.

I need to do that, I got an update recently and it took 2 HOURS and no option to let me postpone/choose another time....lol.

Running FF 80.0 and no problems. Looks and feels the same as previous versions.

No more MASTER password. It triggers too many people.

I have no idea, really. Things just happen willy nilly on this older laptop.....maybe it was Win. 10. But firefox did some stuff that took a long time too....lol.

You're right, it sucks. I have not found any reason to like it. I have used Firefox for years, but now I have the DuckDuckGo browser running on my tablet and will probably uninstall Firefox once I get DDG working the way I want it.

Whoa, FDG has a browser? ...Looking into this.

thanks for the heads up though. I'll apply the update now before i ... ahem... need to do any browsing in private mode via VPN. never know when i might need to suddenly do that

I don't let any browsers remember my passwords. I put them under my keyboard on an index card. No not really.
