Pros:
  • Slightly smaller than the RMR
  • Trijicon name/brand
Cons:

Maybe if I wanted an RMR on a very very small pistol and a regular one seemed bulky...but this doesn’t appear to fit any needs of mine

lost me at 699

That's MSRP, not street. They already have it down to $500 based on the above post.

That said, I would not buy one due to the proprietary footprint. They should have designed something based around the RMSc which has become the industry standard for sub one inch slides.

even at 500, that’s a lot for a red dot. to put things in contrast lol, my most expensive scope for now is a vortex 2-7 lol. even then i got 2 for under 175 shipped

I’m a Trijicon fan boy and was holding out for them to make a slim optic until the 407K came out and I got that. Seems like i made the right choice. Doesn’t co-Witness with standard height sights, still the bottom load battery. No thanks. The propriety foot print doesn’t bother me as all my guns get milled for each optic anyway, but still, Trijicon completely missed the mark with this one.

Do the Holosuns stand up to heavy and hard use?

the 407/507K are fairly new so not too many out there yet that have heavy use. Although Aaron Cowan has abused one pretty well with good results. All the other holosun models have done very well so I wouldn’t think these models would be any different.

Proprietary footprint sucks, but I’m an RMR fanboy so more options are always welcome. I would love one of these on a 43x.

I believe the same goes for the holosun 407/507k, which is also lame.

Well, I mean the Hellcat also requires a mod to fit the Holosun.

They aren't perfect either as they didn't perfectly implement the RMSc lug design.
