Planning to checkout the range tomorrow, anyone that’s been there? Better than TSA?

It’s right down the street from me but haven’t been yet. Driven past a bunch. I’ll check it out eventually.

Is it membership only? I don't see anything on the website about a daily fee. Other then under membership.

So went there today and here are some of the things I noted compared to TSA

Pros:

The allowed face mask to be taken off in the range area
They had preprogrammed drills in the pads you could use
They had a camera at each taker could use on an alternate screen to see your targets especially at 25yds
All kinds of light controls, white light, night, strobes, daylight etc
Called in the morning and was able to book a time so no wait time

Cons
The stations seemed louder as they didn’t have a thick glass like TSA does
Didn’t have cardboard so couldn’t use staple gun for your own reactive target but I used tape that they had and it was ok
$5 more than TSA
Did have 9mm in stock at $34/50rds

Everything else was about the same

I’m a member there and enjoy it, though I have nothing to compare it to. All the guys up there are super nice and will leave you alone if you show you’re knowledgable and safe. Can draw from OWB holster, which is fun when hubby and I compete against each other. Honestly, we go up there about 3 times a week and have a blast. Might not be for everyone.

ETA: I’ve taken their first 4 levels of classes and took the 1 day CCH course. All have been great for someone new to shooting. They are also starting carbine classes there and an advanced EDC course for various shooting and cover positions.

Since i started going there, i havent looked at tsa anymore. Its more relaxed here. I enjoy it way more then tsa. It does seem alot louder because it is tighter. It does cost 5$ more but they allow you to share a lane for that so its actually cheaper if you have 2 sharing!!

How many shooting lanes do they have? Is it hard to get a lane sometimes? That is nice you can share a lane though.

A old friend of mine is starting to teach there. So if you see any classes done by Sweed Training, take it.

we haven’t had a problem yet getting a lane. Busy times are in the early evening and more so on the weekends. But even at busy times they have lanes. Usually if the main bays are full they’ll put my hubby and I in a group bay, which is only 15 yards, but no biggie if we’re just shooting pistols.

Main bay has 8 lanes (25 yards) and they have 2 group bays with 4 each (these are 15 yards).

That’s great! I will definitely have to check them out soon.
