It's been about 5 years since I last had the Parker Hale musketoon out to the range so it was time. I fired 13 rounds at paper and two at the gong all standing unsupported at 50 yards.

This was the first time I used these soft plastic loaders and they worked perfectly!

I had a good time. Next will be out to 100 yds to see how it shoots!

Good shootin, looking forward to 100 yard target. I’m happy if I can regularly hit an 8” gong at 50 with my PH musketoon

Thanks! What serial number range is yours? I had two of these in the 70s and traded them off and then bought another one around 2012 or so. Mine is 9001 which supposedly is a PH barrel and the rest is Italian made. According to those who know more than me, 9001 was the first Brit/Italian hybrid musketoon.

Mine is 9690. And I agree - Dave is about to get the hang of it. Good musketoon shootin’, Dave!

Nice shooting, bet it turned a few heads at the range.

With the right load, most of these old guns are quite capable of very good accuracy and by that I mean as good or better than quite a few new, modern factory guns.

And this is what I call a good day at the range. Location- Winchester VA, Fort Shenandoah, home range of the North South Skirmish Association. Pic is during 1st relay of the carbine match. In the foreground is position 20 and Control Tower 2. Note that each position is occupied by an 8 man team. The line extends through the smoke to position 73, Control Tower 3. Relay 2 is prepping for their turn. And yes, I shoot my musketoon in the carbine match. This ain't reenacting, we shoot live ammunition.
