Muzzle brake

Would a 26-in heavy barrel in a 6.5 creedmoor still need a muzzle brake ?
The rifle is mounted in a chassis so it's kind of heavy already.

Yes I was hoping the heavy barrel would minimize jump

I am no expert on precision rifles or on 6.5. But the brake is going to make a huge difference, imo.

The heavy barrel will certainly help but a brake is going to flatten it out much more effectively.

6.5 still has a fair amount of recoil based on the round and velocity. My 6mm weighs 17 pounds and I can tell the difference between the gun with and without the brake. I personally really like the Area 419 brakes.
