Friends Home Broken into Today and Odd

Go ahead and come around my place, or better yet, get close to this boy and she’ll eat your arm up to your elbow before you know it’s gone! Then run...fast...she likes fast food! I’ve often said that when she’s in my truck, I leave the door unlocked. If someone besides me opens it, they’ll have a huge surprise!

I had a male Mtn. Cur that took up with my daughter when I quit hunting. That bastard was fast & would eat a SOB alive for coming around her. Old Luther was hell on wheels in his day.

How's your foot, Pumpkin?:)

"Y'all need to leave that poor young man alone!

Don't you know he ALMOST finished getting his associates from the local Community College?

He had a job interview that afternoon! He just needed a nice haircut, a little food, and a nice outfit so he could get that job and turn his life around!"
- Mom of suspect

Hahaha

Simply Safe makes me nervous ever since I saw this. .........
Wireless devices can be spoofed or disabled no matter who makes it. I agree not to use any yard or window signs except for Beware of Dog.
Same for the door cameras that can be hit with LED laser pointers, any security system should have several layers.
Simple old school door bell or the horn from a smoke detector can be wired to a trip wire or string with a clothespin to give you a second level alarm should an intruder get past the first level. Stand alone door alarms that are not wireless are also an option. Trail or game camera also works well as another layer to see who was on the property. Small battery powered camera can also work well inside the home in a book case or in a wall vent.

The perp has not been charged yet of anything if you check the jail website. Not sure what is going on.

The family was renting the home they lived in. This weekend they moved everything because both the boys and wife were terrified because the guys family lives on the same street and he lives with them. They moved in with their parents in Statesville until they find a new place. I will not be moving from my home if this happens to me. Police picks them up, judges set bail and charges to put them back on the street. Demoralizing to the law enforcement. Just crazy.

The prosecutor will say he was just protesting, and they won't charge people for exercising their rights...

My mom's house was broken into yesterday while she was gone. Jewelry was the only thing stolen. TV and computer left untouched. She said you could see where the person(s) rambled through her jewelry drawer and some the dresser draws. He/she/they took a brick and broke out a pane of glass on the back door. She's 72 and lives by herself (has a revolver she keeps with her when she is home). Naturally she is a bit unsettled. They took a pillow case off of her bed to put the jewelry in. Deputy sheriff came out and finger printed. Hope they get a hit. I friggin' hate a thief.

My wife used to sit upstairs by the gunsafe with the safe door open so she'd have access to everything we own that's big and scary on those nights I had to work late. I'd come in the house and yell "don't shoot me ". That behavior stopped when we got Annika. 75 lbs of GSD fur missle. No barking. That dog was great. Never slept better than when she was in the house.

That dog prevented me from being car jacked. The thug came up from behind the car and when he got next to the open rear window she went flying into action snapping jaws and throwing drool. That dude jumped back a solid 6 feet and ran. Jumped into his fellow thug's suburban and they tore off running the red light I had stopped for.
Best dog ever.

Now that worry is with her every day. I hate that for her. Put her up a couple motion doorbells like Ring with motion sensors and a remote chime with a dog bark alert.

If I have my wife's doberman with me and someone tries to car jack me, not only would I lose my vehicle, I would have to explain to my wife why her dog left with the person.

My oldest brother texted me yesterday and said he was going to get her a Ring doorbell. She is using his hot spot for internet service as CenturyStink offers a blazing 1.5Mbps download speed. What she has will do for now but I hope Starlink is available next year like it is planned.

Before my father in law passed last year he had something similar happen. He didn't lock one of his doors for some reason. He lived in a spaced out neighborhood a little ways out in the country. He started noticing a bedroom door was cracked differently, and then had some food missing. For about two weeks a homeless guy had been coming inside and sleeping in the downstairs bedroom. He started locking the door, called the cops, and that was it.

Wow.

My son said it was outside of the Newton city limits and county handled it. He didn’t know anything other than it happened.
