What's for dinner?

A little shrimp cocktail before some grass feed bone in ribeyes, baked potato and green beans. I poached them in a court bouillon. They were so delicate and flavorful.

We fixin to throw a Wang Dang Doodle up in here! Nephew & niece invited a few of us over for for a cook out supper. I told them I'd bring some wings. Seasoned half with SPG and half with Kick'n Chicken.

Korean inspired Gochujang Chicken. Served it over brown rice with stir fried eggplant and green beans. The perfect blend of spicy and sweet.

Took the leftover crab meat from the weekend and made individual crab imperials. I did a quick lemon marinade on a halibut filet. Through together some sauteed veggies and served it with some brown rice.

Y’all make this cooking thing look easy, LOL! I struggle and am playing catch-up or ketchup.:p
First time for homemade chicken fingers and potato wedges.

Tacos from Dairy Queen with bacon left over from breakfast. I know what you're thinking, "Who da hell has left over bacon?"

Starting out with the rub on them and first time firing up the Vortex inside the Weber. These are some really meaty party wings I picked up from one of the Mountaire Farms processors in my county. Larger than anything you'll normally find in a grocery store.

Wangs 1.jpg

The first batch turned out so well.....(the neighbors and our grandkids wiped out the first batch)......so we cooked a second batch pictured below.....that is a piece of pecan chunk sitting on top of the coals providing the sweet love of smoke on the wings.......part of that pecan tree is now residing in Texas with @Geezer . I went ahead and basted both batches with some sauce about 5-10 minutes before the finish line.

Wangs 2.jpg

The finish line: I appreciate watching @Wahoo95 and @Geezer demonstrate their vortex/charcoal talents throughout previous years and finally ordered one and tried it out this past Sunday. Man that vortex really heats things up and makes the wings really taste better than fried.............complete with crispy skin to die for. These are the easiest wings I've ever cooked and I've cooked quite a few in my 60 + years on this planet.

Thanks guys !!

My family and neighbors heard the name "Eddie" and "Larry" a number of times during the cooking/eating time around the picnic table this past Sunday.......lol
I'm still wondering why I viewed all of those posts you guys made and yet I waited so long to get the vortex.

Thanks again. You guys helped me salvage my rep as a griller and put me back in the game.

Don't forget you can do amazing grilled fish with the Vortex as well!

I've been wanting to grill some fish. How do you use the Vortex with the fish?

@Brangus , those are some good looking wings. Vortex wings are the best I've had. And, they are so easy to fix.
