@Michael458 on that 458 hp do you get enough extra performance from milling a hexagon to justify the extra work vs drilling it?
Jim, these type bullets are the most devastating bullet I have ever seen in the field. They are just wicked. These are all CNC machined, the HP is what they call "wobble broached", whatever that means. Basically once that bullet penetrates 1.5-2 inches inside tissue, 6 blades shear off exactly the same moment, while the center bullet stays on course. They are blades, not petals. They rip and tear through tissue, they do not push. These blades for 3-4 inches travel close to the center bullet, as tissue expands, these blade rip the tissue to shreds, it won't contract back to the wound channel, it is ripped to pieces. After this point, the blades are moving away from the center bullet, and become projectiles on their own, ripping through blood vessels, organ tissue, and anything they come in contact with. All the while, the center bullet is continuing on its path, now acting as a blunt flat nose broken bottle solid. On most animals this main bullet will exit.
They are extreme in the extreme.......... There is nothing on the planet that can cause more destruction of tissue. Of course, the big bores are exactly as described above, as your bore size gets smaller you have the same exact effect, but of course the blades are smaller too. Blades on small bores, .308 and less, do not travel as far from center as the big bores do. They are extremely devastating even in .224 calibers. For any given caliber, these type bullets are the most extreme you can use. Also, they will NEVER FAIL. Every single one is the same as the one before. Regardless of size, they all react and behave exactly the same.
Is it worth it? Yes, absolutely, without doubt. Now you don't want to use them to plink cans and bottles, or target shoot. These are for Extreme Terminal Performance.
This is the heart of a buffalo shot with a 458 B&M 420 Raptor at 25 yards frontal shot............ Big hole........Blades were still working close with the center bullet. After this, the remaining bullet penetrated over 4 foot and was found
behind the stomach.
