So grey ops makes an arca plate for precision rifles. They make it more steady when not using a bipod. They’re well over $100 so I decided to make one. Got it roughed out today. $12 clamp and some 1/4” aluminum plate that was $20 and I’m almost done. Will probably take the dremel to it tomorrow and then some alums black. Might also glue some kind of thin neoprene on the bottom too. Anyways here’s some pics so far.

Im confused. Does this just increase the vertical stability off of a bag?

It’s more the left and right cant than up and down. All you’re doing is increasing the bearing surface on the bag. Makes it more stable.

Thanks. So more of a rotation limiter. I do also like the idea of multiple optic mount to the tripod.

Maybe one of these days I’ll get up the courage to shoot a PRS match and learn about all the cool toys.

I like it. I came from the photography world where ARCA Swiss was essentially born. It wasn't cheap there either. When it caught speed in the PRS style / gun world, the price increased even further for the same materials and machining. Area419 and o0thers make excellent products, and get a very nice price for their product, but all for good reasons. It's great gear, incredibly functional, solves a problem, etc. But like you..... I'm a fan of a little home grown engineering and putting money in my pocket.

Nice work!

Thanks I think I'm going to use the 4" left over from the plate I cut to make one thats a bit smaller. Just ordered another clamp. SO I'll have $45 in two of them! Still trying to decide if I want to glue something on the bottom of it for some grip.

Is it "flippable"? If so definitely put some neoprene on one side. Then if it you need a slick side you can flip it...

Did some dry fire barricade practice today to get ready for the frontline match this weekend. Used the plate and it worked fine. Some notes I added neoprene to the bottom and it sticks great on the schmedium waxed canvas game changer, I wish I had made the thumb wheel hole a bit bigger. May try to fix that later in the week or after the match. Anyways I’m happy so far with how it’s turned out.

Do you think some sort of 3/8" or 1/2" hardwood-plywood would work? I was thinking about cnc'ing the shape out and mounting to an arca clamp.
