Airplanes and firearms

Question for everyone. Does it matter how many guns you carry? If i can fit 2 pistols in my case is that ok? Leaving sunday morning so need some answers quickly. ;)

There is no limit how many you can take, but ammo is limited in the amount of weight you can transport.

Not necessarily true. Last two airlines i flew on limited you to one handgun by policy. Read their website instructions

Just got back from Wyoming. There is a limit of 5 per case or bag but no limit to how many cases. At least through United Airlines. I would bet it's the same throughout. Who are you flying?

Good point. I was referring to the fed law, but not the specific airline rules.

Delta is the same. Up to 5 per case. Ammo in same case. Make sure ammo is in original box if you are taking any. And no more than 11 lbs of ammo. And make sure you can't get your hand in the case. Saw a guy get denied in Denver Sunday because the agent said she could get a hand in it. If you live close to Lexington you're more than welcome to come get the one I used. It should hold 2 guns depending what they are. And you don't have to use "TSA approve locks".

I took 2 handguns when I flew to Texas a couple of months ago. They were in the same lock box. And I had a box of ammo just packed inside the suitcase. They asked to see the lock box, didn't ask me to open it. Asked if I had ammo and where it was. I said it's near the bottom in the original box. That was it. It was the same in Myrtle Beach and Houston.
