What are you drinking?

View attachment 11629 I'm going to be having a glass of this in just a few minutes.

A buddy of mine gave it to me for my bday. Talk about the perfect gift. Something I really enjoy but wouldn't buy for myself very often.

That is my brothers favorite. I went to buy a couple bottles for him for a fishing trip a few years ago and saw the proce tag. Damn. So he got a couple bottles of Green Spot Irish Whiskey instead. Nice gift and good friend.

The best part was when he rolled up with something tall in a brown bag, knowing my friends I thought and then asked "There's a giant dildo in that bag isn't there?" LMAO. to say I was shocked at what it actually was is an understatement.

I used to work for a guy that kept a case of 18 year old Macallans in his trunk just in case a bar ran out. That was a guy that never questioned a bar tab on an expense report.

Been drinking Guinness extra stout the last few nights. Think I have 2 left in the 6 pack. Pretty good for a stout from Walmart! Lol

I like it. But I may not be all that discriminating. So far I like Speyburn, Tyr Connell and the Teeling all about equally. The 12 year old Red Breast is good too, but not sure I'd pay double to have it over the others. Maybe once in a while.

The TOPO has been my least favorite. Too sweet and way too muvh vanilla. The Defiant is ok, but not as good IMO as the ones listed above.

I didn't care for the Defiant either. Wanted to but....

What I haven't broken into yet is the Man of War. Not included in the pic is the watermelon shandy. It's not that good.

I wanted something substantial (oz-wise), and refreshing. I didn't have any Zevia ginger ale, so I put these together. Lovely to sip cold with a hot shower. 2Gingers is on sale this month for $17. very hard to beat for a mixing whiskey. You'll find it on the bottom shelf, but I think it deserves better.

It is June 14...NATIONAL BOURBON DAY...be sure to take time and recognize the significance of this special day...toast the Flag, toast the Army...you get the idea.

Tonight, I'm enjoying a nice, 32 ounce cuppa lemon water. Next one will be lime water.

Can't drink alcohol on a 12 hour work shift.

And I recently cut black tea out of my drinking habits. I drank massive amounts of tea and it turns out that black tea may be a contributor to the kidney stone episodes I've had (just had one a couple Monday's ago...my 4th or 5th in 16 years).

I'm thinking about some Takamaka Dark rum when I get off work, though.

Russian Standard Vodka and grapefruit juice. I can only drink one though cause that juice is crazy acidic! Tears up my stomach if I have more than one.

Got a care package from my dad. This is one of my favorite IPAs, and we can't get it here in TX.

I love Noda beers. I found out the hard way why they call it "Hop, Drop n' Roll" when I first started drinking that. Damn son. That's not an "all night" selection.

Pretty much limiting it to home brew lately. Hard Cider, Aztec Cervesea(?), Bottled an IPA this morning, needs about two weeks, Got a batch of Mead (actually a Melomel) bottled and one more in secondary ferment. Starting a Strawberry Wine tomorrow.
Also, the 2 gallons of Root Beer where about 1% so I guess it counts.
The hard cider is really hard. Barbers Orchard cider in one batch, the cider from the hippie grocery store in Asheville was a touch better.
I have learned that you do not drink home brew from the bottle, but not the hard way.

Haha, can't do that with most IPAs. Unless they are session IPAs, but I've made that mistake before, and I apparently never learn, because it happens again from time to time.

The last few days..

Picked this up Saturday. Not bad. Won't pay $38 for it again tho. Aged in new chared oak barrels instead of used ones. Definitely adds a oaky flavor to it.

Ha! That is just wrong. And I'm pretty sure you are too young to be reminiscing about the wine cooler and Zima heydays.
I wouldn't say I'm old, but definitely not that young. Zima was one of the first things I got drunk on.
