Somebody recently stole seven sets of diesel locomotive air horns from The New Hope Valley RR Museum in New Hill.

They removed them from the locomotives, probably in the middle of the night.

If you hear anything about these for sale, please notify Wake County Sherrifs Dept or send me a pm.

The museum is a non-profit all volunteer organization, and this represents a pretty significant loss for them.

I hate to hear that Scott. It is just sad. I have taken my kids for rides on those trains when they were little fellas. That whole place is a local treasure.

Those are popular with some 'car' owners. Putting them on your car...right after you rent the 24" wheels...then scaring other drivers with them is all the rage around Raleigh.

I hope you find the horns and the thieves.
 
Sorry to hear about this, thieves hurt everyone. I hope they get busted.

I need to come and ride on the NHV it one place I have never been.

There is a huge market for them on ebay. They sell for hundreds if not thousands depending on what you have. Check there and the truck yard down the road and you will probably find them.
