You would think after almost 50 years of shooting, hunting, reloading, and cleaning guns I would have made all possible mistakes and learned from them. Not so! I disassembled and cleaned one of my revolvers. When I went to reassemble it I didn't have any gun oil handy, but there was a bottle of paper shredder oil. I figured it should be close enough... Wrong. I guess it must have some type of wax dissolved in it that leaves a sticky coating when it dries. I pulled the gun out a couple months latter and the cylinder would hardly turn and it was very hard to cock single action. I took it apart and it was all gummed up. A couple hours of scrubbing and scarping and oiling it properly its back to normal.

Breakfree CLP has always been reliable for me. I sometimes use a spot of GunSlick (graphite) on slide rails and sears. I recently got some TW25b because it is supposed to be the BEST for an AR (claims to be a trigger job in a tube, the ALG was better :), so far, so so.. Slappy McTrigger swears by Slide Glide heavy and has been urging me to try it, I need to... I have to try the Mobil 1 too...
