Looking at dedicating my AR10 to hunting mainly, so I think a fixed 3x with an ACSS type retical would work great.

What's your thoughts on this?

I hunt with handgun, 300 Blk, and AR10 exclusively. I have variable power on both rifles. 2.5-10x50. I like being able to identify button bucks from does later in the day. Sometimes even at 10x my old eyes still miss a call.

I'd take a close look at the Steiner 1-4x24 with mount dude has for sale on here.

Be perfect for your needs I bet.

This right here.

This ACOG has the most forgiving eye relief, has a large fiber optic for light collection but the scope isn't overly huge like the 5.5x and 6x models.

I have the TA11-J 223 model and it's perfect. I've got, most recently 400 yards with it with no issues, easily making first time hits on prone silhouette targets (head and shoulders).

I had the TA11E before I traded it for a long range scope.

Think I'm going to back burner this for a bit, and just get my 300blk set up for hunting. Where I hunt I used a 30-30 with peep sights.

I've been doing a bit of research into a hog gun, specifically an AR10, and a low power variable seems like the best bet so far. 1-6, 2-10, etc. while I can hit steel at 200 with a red dot on my ARs no problem, I'm sure the extra power will be quite desirable at times.

Coming from a bird and nuisance hunter, so take that for what it's worth.
