I have been contacted about providing additional trauma-specific training, more in-depth than a cursory overview, but not quite TCCC/medic training. I have thought about a class with the following elements (catchy name in the works). It would be a full weekend; or, I could pare it down for a day. Not sure about cost, likely $100-$130/day or $200-$250/weekend. I could travel to another location or do it local (Durham).

Mull it over, if it is something you would be interested in, let me know. If there is enough interest I will start putting the program together.

Full weekend:

Physiological/psychological reactions to stress
The importance of having the proper mindset
Basic anatomy and physiology of life-sustaining systems
H, A, B, C’s—Hemorrhage, Airway, Breathing and Circulation
Breakdown and usage of Individual Med Kit components
Hands-on application of the IMK
Basic and advanced airway management -treating and monitoring tension pneumothorax, sucking chest wound and flail chest
Airway adjunct device placement-nasopharyngeal Airway
Basic first aid and advanced wound care
Application of bandages and hemostatic agents
Application of tourniquets
Recognition and treatment of various injuries (Gunshot, Laceration, Burn, Airway, Head, Orthopedic, Environmental)
Recognition and treatment of hypovolemic (hemorrhagic) shock
Moving and positioning victims with various injuries
Response to active shooter situation
Proper use of cover and cover vs. concealment
Casualty recovery in an active shooter situation
Mass casualty triage procedure
Hardware/Kit

I'd definitely be in. With enough notice of date I could schedule my travel schedule around it.

Count me in. Before moving from MN I was going to take some classes there that I knew about through somebody that delivered them. I recently moved here and have been on the lookout. I have a medical background but no longer am in the medical practice.

I follow “Skinny Medic” on YouTube and like the level his course and IFAK cover. I think he is in SC. Would love something local.

And just throwing this out there, but if we need a central location, my office is in High Point right off of business 85. I have a conference table and we can bring extra chairs in. We can take care of 8-10 people easily. We can fit 10-20 in the space with extra chairs brought in they just wouldn't be able to get down on the table.

Edit: Assuming you do it on a weekend.

To bleed, or not to bleed, that is the question.
