Bolt vs semi

A 22cal is the most fun to shoot of all the rifles I own. The small recoil, little noise, 4.5 cent a round, or maybe the memories of being a carefree kid again. Almost everyones first gun was a 22.

Well, crap. Y'all are going to have to wait at least another week. Rifle was out for delivery today with a 3p-7p window. My FFL buddy (home-based, but free) made it home by 2:45p, and UPS had attempted to deliver it at 2:31p.

My buddy leaves for vacation in the morning, and won't be back until 2/15. Evidently the shipper had it set so the FFL couldn't change the delivery option to "hold at UPS"...and that's a shame because he lives ~5 minutes from the distribution center and would've grabbed it in the morning before leaving town. All he could do was select a new date of 2/15.

So, I wait.
And it continues. Buddy gets back in town and picks up the package from UPS late yesterday. No copy of the shippers FFL in the box. He's requested a copy, but won't be home until after 9p tonight.

Hoping to pick it up in the morning if he can get a copy of their FFL before then. :(

Wow, this is really lame. When you finally post some pictures there better be some scantily clad super models included, or some smoked meat, fresh off a grill. So far, you are a disappointment. :(

How 'bout this cute little number in nothing but a sports bra? :p

Fingers crossed for a 17 hmr varmint!

Not to rush you or anything, but.........

Suckers are expensive ain't they? I only bought 2 for mine cause I couldn't stomach anymore haha
Yep. Found them for ~$25/ea. Four was enough. It was almost enough of a price difference to steer me to the Ruger bolt gun I posted.

Yep, mags are kinda pricey ... and tiny!

I lost a couple here and there some how (either just didn’t see them or maybe someone else picked them up) so now I’ve removed the floor plates of mine (along with quite a few other mags) and painted with DayGlo luminous paint. I can spot them much easier now and know they are mine.

CZ 455 Tacticool. Bushnell 6-18X rimfire scope. Burris Signature rimfire rings with a +20 insert in the rear ring.

Got the scope mounted. Man I hate that process. Have it roughly boresighted using the neighbor's gas grill two doors down. :D

Going to use the Sparrow for the first trip out while waiting on the Element to get approved. The threads are slightly too long, so I pulled the o-ring out of the Sparrow.

Used the bipod (yes, its mounted backwards) just for these pics. It's being returned today, along with the medium height rings that were too short. I'm getting a different bipod on Thursday from a member here when we meet up at PHA for the first shots.

That's a sexy beast. Well done. How do you like the CZ's stock?

Actually not a big fan of the texture pattern. But, it feels real solid and is a pretty comfy fit.

Awesome!! What caliber did you go with? And how do you like those dovetail rings? They pretty solid?

I win! I love my tacticool stock. I added a cheek riser as it was still a little too low for my taste but overall it's very comfortable and solid. I pulled my action and sanded the barrel channel as mine would not pass the dollar test.

I wonder if there's a difference in medium height rings across manufacturers? I used vortex medium rings and a dip 25 moa rail and cleared. Barely, but it clears.

Jk the difference is I got a little extra height from the dip rail whereas you mounted directly to the reciever.
Yep. I went with the Burris rings that mounted directly to the dovetail, and got my additional MOA height with ring inserts. It can actual go up to over 50 MOA depending on which inserts are used and how far apart the rings are placed. I'll have to go back and measure the ring spacing and look at the chart to see what I actually ended up with.

I went with a +20 in the rear...but if I decide to readjust it, I'd probably switch to a -20 in the front instead. Same end result with an ever so slightly lower profile overall.

If nobody has recommended it yet check out the yodave trigger kit. It's a spring and shim kit that let's you adjust pull weight and sear engagement. Only $25. If y'all weren't going to PHA in the middle of the week I'd ride out and you could shoot mine.

Hello all,
New to the site. Interesting thread. Thought I might share a picture of a target or two. 25 dot target is a volquartsen 10/22. 15 dot target is a savage bolt mark II thumbhole stainless. Same bench, same day, Wolf ammo in both guns.
