Haven't hunted since going with my grandpa over 25 years ago when I was in my early teens. Thinking of trying hunting this year. Maybe try to take a deer to put in the freezer. First I thought I might attempt getting a couple Coyotes. Question is, where do you hunt these if you don't have land or have family with a nice spread? I don't mind paying a reasonable amount to hunt on private land. Not sure how to find people that offer hunting leases. There some sort of website or something for that, or do you just have to know somebody? I don't really need a huge piece of land. Looking to get one deer, maybe a few rabbits...and a few coyotes. Public game land isn't at the top of my list as I don't want to get shot by some trigger happy idiot shooting at moving bushes.

If you had a couple friends that wanted to hunt with you. I saw this on Craigslist Greensboro. Search 6589167111
270 acres in nw forsyth co $3000

hunt public land. Over 2 million acres of it in NC. After you do that for a couple years I guarantee you'll find some land that isn't public asap.

But we've never had a problem. Never been shot at, or heard anyone shooting at bushes. You're more likely to be shot on your own property by poachers and trespassers believe it or not.

I hunt public land in SC and have for years. Do your research and find the "out of the way" pieces. I hunt spots that I guarantee haven't been hunted by anyone but me in decades.

I hunt public land in SC in Zone 1 in the NW corner of the state. I've bumped into two other hunters in the past three years but only by the landing where I park.

Miles of nothing, just the way I like it.
