Thieves scouting for NRA decals in NC car thefts

This is really not new criminals have profiled victims for a long time. I am sure an unoccupied vehicle with gun related stickers makes them think there is a possibility of a firearm (especially in front of places with gun buster signs like theaters, malls, etc) to steal since the owner is suppose to leave it in the vehicle. Thieves supposedly have targeted people leaving gun stores and ranges also ... following them home, to another parking lot, etc.

Do I believe they are doing this? Yes, but the scum use more than NRA or other gun stickers to pick theft victims and I just don’t advertise ANYTHING with stickers, logo shirts or hats, etc that say I might have a gun ... never have ... because crooks have profiled targets way longer than the stupid media has ever thought about it be it your vehicle, your home, your person ... criminals haven’t really gotten smarter the media has just finally started to see it. And also it is another way to stir the issue of gun control, the NRA being negative and so on.

I’ve got one sticker on my truck, a Willie G skull from Harley Davidson. Only reason it is there is because I had something scuff the back glass and the sticker hides it pretty well. If it weren’t for that I wouldn’t have anything.

That's why I put a coexist sticker on my Subaru. Who would ever think that a Subaru with liberal stickers would harbor guns?
Coexist on a subaru....flippin perfect lmao
You blend in perfectly!!!

On a side note, and I'll try to get a pic of it in the future, there is a Honda Accord running around my county with all the typical leftist/hippy/hipster stickers on it...coexist, bernie, hug a tree, Tybee Island (always get a kick outta that), Patagonia, etc.
AND....wait for it...this one:
dont want your guns.jpg

I was a bit shocked, to say the least.

I have no stickers, vanity plates on any vehicle I own. I don't want a keyed vehicle because of my football/baseball team. I mean we all know how Cowboy's fans are.:D
No stickers either, but I do have a Tennessee Vol Football plate up front.
I never get keyed, though...mostly just sympathy notes :D

Well, I do drive a Subaru but I don't have any stickers on it. I figure the Subaru is enough to keep gun thieves away.

I have a silver Tacoma and I put a black camper shell on it because I got it for $600 and a new one was $1200 up. I've thought about putting a Raiders sticker on it so the colors would look intentional, but there's no telling who might be offended.

I am absolutely shocked! I always thought the "This Vehicle Protected By GLOCK Perfection" was an absolutely amazing deterrent.

I have only a decal my wife made of a storm troopers helmet on my car, and the remains of a CFF sticker that lost its adhesion and fell off. I figure people will see the storm trooper and figure I am a supporter of a massive overbearing government that controls all aspects of our lives. Basically a Bernie supporter.

No way dude. I have a storm trooper helmet too.

Somebody is gonna bust in for our figurines.

Never leave valuables in your vehicle.

I also don't lock it. I would rather they don't break my window to scoop up pocket change.

Some of my neighbors here in Hville have had firearms stolen. I can't comprehend storing a firearm overnight in a vehicle. I'm not even comfortable using my vehicle safe for short periods of time when I am forced to enter a free fire for criminals zone.

And yes. I do have a small NRA sticker and a small Gadsden flag.

What if you have a Protected by Trunk Monkey sticker?

Again?

My truck's been broke into 47 times, they straight carried my Jeep off before that, and my Subaru I guess now I know why they stole all those CDs and left a couple grand in stereo stuff must've been looking for guns only and thought that was what was in the cases, if only I'd known it was the stickers...

Sure stickers are ads, sure it's gonna make you target sometimes, so is driving a newer car, driving a customized car, leaving stuff in sight, parking in certain places, leaving the car unlocked, thieves are gonna thieve and a whole hell of a lot of vehicles with nothing gun related at all end up rifled, robbed, or stolen, I'd be surprised if vehicles with gun stickers actually accounted for a majority, or even 10%.

Next amazing story, cars get broken into at sporting events because people can't carry in there so thieves know they'll find guns, nevermind the more obvious thieves know they'll have uninterrupted hours to pilfer stuff.

I don't have stickers on my car. I to see those silhouette families on some and thought of putting the guy figure along with a big and a few small coffins, but then I do have a demented sense of humor.

Nope, don't plan to be hiding my affiliations(NRA/GOA/2A supporter), got several stickers on the back window. But I guess that is one of the benefits of driving a beatup truck old enough to vote and not storing anything valuable in it.

Yes, there are a whole slew of indicators that would draw a thief a certain way. And, yes, stickers can be one of them.

I sincerely hope that 47 figure is a guess/embellished a bit and not an accurate number.

Got a 'I'm with Her' vinyl decal that I slip over my NRA decal when I leave the car.
The NRA decal is inside the window. ;)
