Lowrance HOOK2-4x GPS Bullet Fishfinder.

Looking for the specs on amperage. Nothing is listed to calculate the size battery needed for a 8hr fishing day.

I’ll call BS on your BS ... that manual does not show the specs. Just operating instruction.

I was planning to get to the store this week but wanted to size a battery before then.

I be ran all my FFers on the 12v. 7ah. Battery. Most ran all day 8-10 hrs. On a charge. I would imagine that one would too.

It is what it is... Have you called Lowrance?? Might go there for an answer.... OR..... hook up a multi meter between the unit and a power source and read it for yourself....

I don't have the patience today to wade through all the menus and probably get disconnected before I finally talk to a human.

Have not picked up the unit so #2 is out.

I did find an obscure reference on line that states: Typical: 1.1 A

Kayak, so size/weight is somewhat important. Plus it needs to be sealed, gel would be best.

Yep.
I’ll have to dig my FF out and take a pic. I’ve got the whole shooting match removable. Yes, transducer too.
I was swapping between my lake hobie and coastal ocean kayak.
Maybe give you a idea or 2

Send me a pic. I have some ideas on what I want to do but I'm open for improvement. The transducer can be mounted permanently in a "pod" underneath. I might just want everything in one mountable unit (minus battery).

Go to harbor freight, look up 20% coupon on phone, get cheap $20 solar panel, install on kayak and hook to battery. That will give you some headroom for electronics, but I doubt something like that draws more than 3 or 4 amps at 12v.

Went to Bass Pro and looked at the Hook 4 unit. The manual had the draw speck but the actual unit sucked. If the 'demo' was screwing up then do you really expect it to work in the real world?

That unit is off the list...

Bear in mind how many Bubba's have "adjusted" that unit since it was put on display.
