The Dixie show in Charlotte, NC is this weekend. Located at The Park Expo and Conference Center off Independence at Brier Creek Rd. We will be there. Who else is going?

The ALWS is in Shelby so I might as well go to Charlotte this weekend. Same traffic lol.
The wife does have an appt in Charlotte Saturday for a few hours, shouldnt be hard to talk her into stopping by that afternoon.
 
I'm meeting friend there at 10 on Sat.
2 old white haired guys, can't miss us :p
I'll be wearing my CFF hat.
 
I've never been to this show but did do Raleigh a few weeks ago. Is Charlotte worth a three hour roundtrip drive?

It is a similar show, both in size and vendors. You will get some vendors that don't go to Raleigh, and those who do both will have some different stock, but it is hard to say whether it will be worth your attending both.

Of course it's worth it. You'll be in the same city limits as I am at the same time. :p

Might actually make it out even though I’m already pretty well stocked on jerky this year.

Actually want to find a 4” model 57, so if you see one that isn’t NIB or priced as it it were please shout out.

If you want to come by my house. I’m working with1 arm so will take a few minutes. I.m not far from the show.
 
Seems it's less than 1.5 miles from the show. Worth a try.

The AC went out after lunch, we were talking to one of the venders and he said they were having trouble getting in touch with the maintenance crew.
 
Yeah, it got pretty hot.

No good deals on MP5 mags, but did score you some awesome boot conditioner. 20 bucks plus 5 shipping sound good?

Plenty of Tac 14s. Lowes has matte silver Krylon. ;)

Really though, I was generally eyeing the new little AOW shotguns and didn't see any Mariner models, but if anybody did have them it would probably be Village Gun and Pawn up front. Might be worth a call.

Went to the show yesterday morning. I came home empty handed since I thought most of the prices were way out of line. How do these vendors think they can sell some of these guns at the prices they are asking amaze me. A perfect example was every Sig 365 I got to handle was marked at $599.00. :rolleyes: I saw one at Gander Outdoors in Mooresville for $499.00 and if you were a member I think it was $475.00. I did get to handle a CZ Rami since I wanted to what all the hype was about them. I must say it built like a little tank and it felt great in my hand. If I was a bit younger it would work for me with the 12 round magazine. But now I just couldn't see myself carrying it because of the weight.

I also saw that $599 P365.

I've concluded there are the informed and the uniformed buyers. Likely, many of the uninformed believe the bazaar nature of gun shows equals low prices. I was at a table when a cop walked up and asked the seller whether he had any P365's. The response was, "I've already sold them all". The cop asked the price and it was $549. Then he asked how many he'd had to sell and the answer was one. I saw the cop later and told him to check Lawmen's for the LEO price.

The show was full of buyers paying high prices and Hyatt was doing a land office business at the same time. Plenty of buyers in the market willing/able to pay too much. I, on the other hand, figure that saving $100 on each gun nets me a free one occasionally. ;)
 
There are very few things right now that I want to buy new. Wait a while and they will show up used. Guys rush out and buy the lastest thing and either find they dont like it - but just had to have the NEWEST thing to hit the market- or the next NEWEST thing comes out and they need the money to get that.
