Oh, and he'll beat the snot out of both of us what with all that 40 days of dry fire practice and all.

Is there a stage that starts out with 2 shots to 3 targets out of a DAO wheel gun (dry) then set that down and transition to a semi-auto and do 1 to each head, cycling the action between shots? Because if so, I'm an expert at that. Or a stage with a SIRT laser pistol? Also one of my specialties.

I think the Wake matches are more USPSA style? Just run around and shoot and reload whenever and just stay within the vague fault lines and follow any special stage instructions (through ports, opening doors, etc). Much less to worry about beyond hitting targets.

I miss shooting with y’all....
Been playing rock star on the weekends....

That looks like fun!!

A lot more fun than i'm having right now.
Currently sitting on the side of I 85 due to a blowout.
So yet again, circumstances related to my job will successfully prevent me from making it to the match.
Unbelievable...

Awesome match till the wheels fell off on my last stage (1)! Started with a malfunction throwing off the limited round count, and absolutely blew it from there. I blame the gun, the stage designer, and of course the match director. Fortunately, there's not enough blame left for me, so I still had an awesome match. ;)

Looks like we'll need a chainsaw and 4WD to get to BUG match.

Does IDPA alow chainsaws to be slung or must they be cased until on the (tree) line?

Andy's house is halfway down that road, and he has a tractor, so my guess is it'll get cleaned up PDQ.

So the wife bought me a g43 as a wedding present, what do I need to shoot the bug match next week @fieldgrade

Three mags. If you don't have a holster yet I have a pocket holster you can use if you don't wear them skinny jeans. Galco Pro 800. Ive got a kydex IWB too you can use.
You won't need to practice because those wee Glocks practically shoot themselves.

I actually have an extra mag you can use for the match, too. It has a Vickers +2 extension on it but it runs good. Wouldn't fit in the IDPA box, but it's a local match, and you're an SO.

AND CONGRATULATIONS ON GETTING MARRIED!!

Ok I might just borrow your stuff, and thanks a lot! How many rounds is it?

Depends on how @Amp Mangum runs it, and assuming H20 has it up and running after all the rain. I think they will.
5-6 rounds per mag depending on what Amp says. You want at least two mags, but he let us carry three last time. Probably not more than 70 rounds for the match
How many mags do you have now?

I went and bought another mag so I have 3, 2 with the pinky and 1 without.

Yer good then. I'll have a holster for you.

BUG match coming up Saturday September 29. 6 stages with a minimum of 10rds per stage.

BUG semis will start with 6rds in the gun and spare mags with 5rds each.

BUG revolvers will start with 5rds in the gun and reloading device.

So... like a 2nd revolver?

In any case, I plan to be there pending the wife telling me no. Kinda want to run the P380, just have to figure out an acceptable holster setup for it.

My wife loves it when I am gone. I think she's having an affair with the produce manager at the Food Lion.

@Amp Mangum @fieldgrade

Im curious about the classifier match scheduled later in the month.
Not real concerned at this point with being classified officially, i'm not a member even. And i already know how well i dont shoot! But still curious about what to expect. Will that match be run same as the regular monthly matches or different somehow? I tried the link to the IDPA page but it didnt work.

From the H20 weblog page “announcement” in the discussion about the match this past Saturday.
"We are ~not~ going to hold a “classifier as a match match” in October. We’ll mark it as cancelled on the Match Page (schedule) ASAP. The “why” of that is: the new abbreviated (5×5) IDPA classifier is very abbreviated. Our plan as of right now is to “incorporate” it into the November Toys-For-Tots charity match."

I don't think that means we won't have a regular match, I think it means the full classifier match on the 27th is canceled, and replaced with having the "5x5" 25 round abbreviated classifier match integrated with the Charity match in November.

I have a question for you guys.

If I were to show up with a group of up to 5 new (never shot comp) shooters with me at the charity match in Nov,
would it be too much of a burden for us to shoot together on the same squad?
It's all family that's gonna be here for Thanksgiving. They are game to try it out, but they hope to shoot together.
I told them I didn't know if we could or not. I could see it being a slow squad and not fair to make others wait on a flock of newbs!.

Thats awesome.
I know 3 are in, not sure about the others. And stepson invited a Raleigh PD friend of his so it could be 6.
Thanks Amp!
