@BatteryOaksBilly and I have been talking and we're starting to get serious about planning for our October 13 & 14 Meet and Greet. Interest has been very positive and a lot of people have said they're planning to attend and others are working on their schedules to try to attend. As new people join the forum those numbers will increase some. Billy is hoping for a large crowd and I think he'll be pleased with the turnout.

I know that many of you are very talented with a grill and/or smoker. We are looking to see if we have anyone that will bring their grill/smoker and volunteer to prepare something. We are hoping that other people will bring a covered dish or something to share.

Yes, it is still many weeks away and plans and schedules can change. But, we are looking for anyone that is planning to come and what they may be able to contribute. As the time draws nearer, we can make changes and adjustments as necessary. Please indicate in this thread what you would like to contribute. Thanks in advance to all.
 
It's time to start a list of food for the pot luck meal. We can edit and adjust as we go. I know some are bringing smokers and grills and there will be a few outlets available for plugging in crockpots and the like. old bear says he's bringing a couple of cases of water which will be nice. Otherwise, we are asking you to bring your own preferred beverages. Please let us know what you plan to bring and I'll update the list.

I'll bring a pig cooker that has another LP gas cooking surface for pots or fry pans on the front deck of it. Will also be deciding on which type of meats to bring as well between now and then. Not quite able to pull off the whole hog thing this go-round but open to about anything else that is not quite so labor and time intensive...……..Boston Butts, chicken, burgers, etc...….

I'm going to bring some tater salad as well, and my mom mentioned making some apple dumplings. If you don't know what I look like, I'm obviously the fat guy.
Look me up just as soon as you get there. I will personally secure the apple dumplings to insure they are safe.

So what's the plan meal-wise? Is this all or one big meal on a specific day or spread out over the weekend or something? What are y'all thinking?
 
eMain feed Saturday about 2ish. We should be well along with the shooting by then.
That's gonna work out great for me. I should get there around 1:55.

I'll be able to demonstrate my eating abilities without having to show how I shoot. :cool:

@gunbelt, I know biscuits would be better made on site, but you could come over to the condo and use the oven there. Its about 20 minutes away from Battery Oaks. Let me know, you're more than welcome to use it.

That could work fine. My biscuits are just about as good the next day. So I’ll go with your idea or bring them from home. But your idea is fresher.
 
Is there an oven available? I make as fine a biscuit as you’ll ever eat. If not I’ll figure out something else out. I’m having knee surgery tomorrow but will be back up by then.
Ronnie Sue says BRING YOUR MAKINS. She reminded me we have a perfectly good usable oven out back. Gas!!!!!
