anybody here have one?

I've fondled one at Tar Heel state. Pretty slick. Felt really nice in the hand. I see a lot of people complain about the triggers but I thought it felt fine.

I have one. Its pretty cool.
Have any problems with light primer strikes? I've been reading up on them for the last 24 hours (since I bought one yesterday) and it seems like the early models had some issues. Maybe with SNs under 500. The one I got had been sitting around for awhile, as the SN is in the ballpark of 350.

Just curious what to expect. I've seen some say they had no issues. Some say they swapped to the MWS kit and then never had any issues. And others that have sent the Maxim back to SiCo 3+ times. Not sure how much I'll be able to shoot it while waiting for approval, but I'd rather it be GTG once the stamp arrives.

Also...I'd always assumed it still needed subsonic ammo, even in long config. But the advertised data is only showing 1dB difference in 115gr vs 147gr. Have you found all ammo to be about the same in it?

Interested to know as well, since SiCo said you can get 3 free cans per household, and I've only placed orders to qualify for 2 so far...

I shot mine today for the first time. The trigger is pretty bad. If you pull too high on the trigger it won’t move, even if you apply 50lbs of force. When you pull on the bottom of the trigger it’s not terrible, but waaaaay heavier than necessary. I’ll probably do the spring kit at some point.

There is no way that there is only a 1db difference from subs to supers. The supers crack and sound as loud as any other centerfire projectile going supersonic. The subs sound good in long configuration. Not as quiet as possible from 9mm, but as quiet as you could expect from a pistol that still feels and points like a pistol (opposed to a pistol with a giant can hanging off it).

Overall I’m happy with it. Although I wish I bought it for half the price, with a free can to boot. Oh well, what can you do.

I'd read that about the trigger. Gotta contact the trigger low.

So you're saying no way to these numbers?

What about the 136.3 vs 139.9 for 147gr in long vs short? Think there's more than a 3dB difference?

At the muzzle? Maybe, but what your ears actually hear is night and day between subs and supers IMO. I wish they would have ported the barrel, but for me it’s a range toy so cheaper plinking outweighs having 115gr supersonic ballistics.

I took it home, threw it in short config, and then put it back in long config along with some anti-seize on the threaded rods. I brought the short rods with me to the range, but didn’t try it out because to me the pistol didn’t feel unwieldy in long config and I didn’t want to give up any more suppression for less overall length. To my ears (not a sound meter), in long config it sounds close to one of my 9mm sbr hosts with an omega 9k on it. Louder than that kind of defeats the purpose IMO unless you’re going to carry it (yeah right, lol).

Either if y'all interested in a @chiefjason holster for your Maxim 9? My next door neighbor has one, and I'm planning on us taking a ride up to Jason's to have him make us each a holster. He could form them using my neighbor's Maxim and then ship them to all of us when done.

He said he could make them for short or long, but doesn't think the long would work well for the short configuration. Not going in the next couple days, so just let me know if either of you are interested. I'll need to work out a schedule with me, Jason and my neighbor.

To add to this, the short might fit the long for a while. The long will not fit a short holster. The Maxim will require some form of stop in the toe for the gun to rest on. Putting a short in a long holster might result in the gun working it's way too deep into the holster though. Best bet, separate holster for each so it retains it's fit.

Kydex OWB in long config with an RMR cut? :) Yes, I’d buy one.

Full length owb kydex is good for me.
He does leather. No full kydex. Don't know about paddle or molle options.

I'll let you and him work out if you want something, and let him mold a 3rd one if you come up with a plan for leather.

Miss read his post. I read it as no, full kydex as that’s all he does is kydex. Send pics when you can and I’ll pm chief.

Only pic I have is the Galco version. He said it would be similar to this:

Well? Did you decide to get one (and another freebie)?

Calm down, I've got a few more weeks before I decide. I'm actually trying to decide if I just do a dedicated 5.56 can and then sell 2 of the freebies to recoup some of the cash.

Anybody have one of these but haven't decided on an optic? I'm working with a couple guys to make a custom fit plate for a Shield RMS that perfectly cowitnesses with the factory sights.

Here's a pic that sent me down the rabbit hole. It's the RMS on a Maxim 9 using some type of Glock plate.

The SiCo plates work, just don't have good lines that fit the slide.

Here was the first 3D printed model:

He made a couple revisions and sent me these earlier this week.

If anybody wanted in on the project, let me know. We're expecting <$50 for the mount, maybe even <$40. SiCo's are $35, but the Glock one that cowitnesses is in the $85 range.

Maybe a "long" holster with an insert/block that drops in so that it holds the gun where it needs to be if you want to use the short version?

I would be in for one a mount. Nice work.
To be clear...it's specific to that optic. Same width, rounded at the back, etc. There might be others that fit, but zero guarantee.

Want me to add your name to my list?

Ive debated one of these for a nightstand gun.
It became impossible for me to pass on once I could get one for <$850, and get a free Octane with it.

Yes, please do.

I currently have an RMR on a silencerco plate and it sits too high IMO. This would give me an excuse to try out a shield sight and throw the RMR on a different pistol.
