LPVO or Red Dot?

For my AR pistol, I think the RDS is perfect for my needs because I don’t see myself shooting it past 100-200 yds. For my rifle, it wears a LPVO because I routinely shoot it out to 500 yds. Just depends on your intended use for that platform

Can't beat a 2MOA RDS IMO. B-27 silhouette center mass all day at 300 with 5.56.

7.62x39, same deal, just gotta do a little holdover.

More often than not, I'd rather have the 1x than 1.1x or 1.2x anyways. I'm all about that FOV.

Dude had it right at the end...match the optic to the purpose of the rifle. If you need to make longer shots, you need more magnification. Pretty simple.

I've alway liked running an optic at about 1.75 - 2x. Single focal plane vs. iron sights and just a little bit of magnification that looks more like additional clarity rather than magnification. But, I happen to be running an enhanced recticle red dot primarily.

I go back and forth here. I currently have 2 T2s on my ARs, and they work really well for what I use them for. However, as I get older the lpvo route seems to make more sense. I’d really like to try out the 1.5power acogs from Primary Arms, but those things are a little pricey to just take a chance on...

I've went to LPVO on my rifles. They do it all.
I don't feel like I've lost anything to a red dot, even though my scopes are used at 1X like 90% of the time.
