Post-41F NFA Stamp Tracking thread

If you just read the last 2-3 pages, you'll see multiple people getting approvals within a day or three of contacting their reps.

Do you have that link handy? I have no idea which page to begin with to try to find it.

So I just saw where someone got a Form 1 approved in 13 days through Efile. I believe it was individual, not trust. But it was 13 days from submission, 10 from finger prints received. If that is truly the turn around time, I may have to just try it for shits and gigs.

EDIT: Decided the hell with it. Logged in, did a Form 1 as an individual. Took under 30 mins including me having to take a selfie, Google an OAL for the SBR, Google what to put in the "Title" field of the application since I wasn't using a trust (for those wondering, people have just used "Mr." and it has been approved, mine was as well.), and pay.

I will mail my fingerprints tomorrow with the cover sheet and we'll see how long it takes.
APPROVED! 14 days. Even folded my fingerprint cards in HALF when I mailed them in. Damn I'm stoked! About to file another one with my trust and see how it does!

So I could have a SBR in ~14 days instead of whatever timeframe it takes with the NFA process?
Yes, if you file it in EForms. They're running about that unless you get stuck in BGC hell.

No reason at all not to file one if you've been on the fence.

(And it's still the NFA process...just electronic instead of paper, even though you still have to do some of it on paper and scan in signed forms, and also mail actual FP cards, but the pic is done digitally)

ETA: also, in case it matters, you don't get an actual stamp back on your form...you get a digital stamp on a PDF.

This is a no brainer then to convert my pistol into a SBR.....

I'm guessing I'll still need it engraved with some sort of SBR unique serial # for my paperwork?
It's easiest to use the serial number already on it from the manufacturer, unless you built it from an 80% lower and it doesn't have one.

You'd need to engrave maker's name...and the city, state where the firearm is made into an NFA firearm.

You'd also need to engrave caliber on the receiver or barrel if it's not already present (most barrels should be properly marked).

I'm a bit late posting, but I got two paper form 1's back earlier this month - both ran around the 90 day mark...and they've made me so happy. I had a gift cert with Silencershop so I filed an e-form 1 with them for my B&T TP9, and that has been a headache, apparently the ATF changed their minds on how SS should send the forms and now they are having to correct it. Got a call from SS and they offered either a full refund, or a $75 gift card, with a goodie bag (hat & patch) if I wanted to wait. Supposedly the fix is in place and they are just waiting for the go ahead from the ATF, so I figure why not wait. I think next time though I'll just go straight to the Eform site.

Welcome to the PS90 SBR club. :D

It's been a long time coming... now it's driving me nuts to shoot the darned thing.
Got a silencer to use on it? I run an Omega 30 on mine.

I got the same call from SiShop and made the same decision to wait on one of my Form 1s. The great thing is if you buy their unlimited 1 shot trust and then spend the $40 for the form 1 service, they generate you a unique trust for the Form 1 item which I really like.

I'll take the $75 gift card they send me and buy 2 more Form 1 services for different lowers. I'm fine to wait a bit longer in exchange for each one to have their own unique trust.

I've got a Ghost-M in jail right now - coming up on 5 months, so hopefully not too much longer.

You're gonna love it!

Emailed my Rep yesterday after calling about my indy form 4s. As suspected, the two oldest are still in FBI bgc land. These were late Jan, early Feb submissions.

A staffer from the local office called today to say they will be sending me a form about privacy or something, and when they get the signed form back, they'll look into it finding the problem and hopefully getting it resolved.

Good luck... I'm in the same boat and it's been 3 weeks since my rep supposedly inquired on mine.

It's like the ATF was suddenly struck all 1999ish computer tech - wise!

Amazing!

@kcult I haven't been reading the news. Thank you for the update and pointing that out. Now just look at my warsport ws9 :)

And my comment was meant as a joke. I feel a certain way about the subject matter, but that's for another thread.

For this thread, I want my freaking cans already! Lol.

How do you like the ARX?

I have 2 form 1's now and a Factory SBR coming someday. I really liked it the first time I picked one up and I was hooked. I am righty and dont need the ambi features. A wrong-handed friend shot it and liked it. I took a shooting around vehicles with carbine class couple months back, it worked great. Ran a little brass then wolf steel, little more brass than a lot more steel cased. It weighs just under 5.5 pounds with RDS IIRC.

Short vid from class in October:

Do you credit this release to your Rep?

FWIW...guy posted this on ARF yesterday (or maybe Thursday). For anybody in NC, it at least appears Burr’s office will attempt to help. And maybe they figure it out on the first constituent, so everybody else will go smoother. If you’re stuck in “Pending FBI background check, I’d suggest Burr is who you contact.

Ted Budd's office was very helpful as well and stated they handle many of these cases on a weekly basis. Feel free to share this email on ARF.

Is the form being filled in, with the exception of the Rep's name being different?

Looks like the NFA branch has been affected by the Pelosi/Schumer Govt Shutdown. Call the NFA branch to ask a question about a form 2 and also asked if the NFA branch was affected by the shutdown, was told no forms are being approved at this time until the shutdown ends.

Ughhh right when I thought I was getting toward the end of my wait.

So what are they spending the $200 per stamp on if it's not to approve forms?
