Not necessarily limited to cars. My question includes a club for trucks and SUVs as well, like a Jeep Wrangler club for instance.

I'm not a member of one, I'm just curious if anyone on here is a member of one.

This site might help you.. I work at a Jeep dealership in Concord and many of our customers are involved in clubs . They have meet and greets weekly or Monthly and also have trail rides occasionally. Its a great way to meet other Jeepers and get advise on equipment or where to have fun as a group..

Never a true club but member of several forums nation wide like this one over the years that had regional meet ups. Jeepsunlimited use to be pretty decent and have reginal group but haven't been on it in years. Nc4x4 is good but it is more hardcore off-roaders. Then i sold the jeeps and moved to diesel trucks and did the same for a while.

Another question. Assuming this was available in your area for your club, do you think there are members of the club that would like to have a facility where they could work on their vehicle and also store it in a climate controlled environment if they needed an inside storage place?

By "facility", I mean a state of the art facility with lifts, air compressors, a used lubricant/fluids reservoir, a parts washing station, shop rags provided, modern diagnostic equipment, etc....

This facility could also serve as a "Meet & Greet place for club members with "Man Cave" features for certain events.

Do any of you think there could be an interest among the members of your club if such a facility were available in your area?

Thanks in advance for any feedback you may offer guys.

i don't think too many of my guys would need the inside storage. but the facility idea has been bounced around before. it comes down to costs breakdown. membership cost or per hour charges, then the insurance liabilities... great idea, but we weren't able to bring it forward...I will bring it up at our Christmas party next weekend...maybe get some more ideas/perspectives. Good Luck.

Little bit diffrent situation personally now since I live at our farm so a little more well equipped than when I was big into jeeps while at college and working on it in duplex driveway. I do think there is a group out there that lives in town that it would be of big intrest to depending cost and setup. The weekend warriors that live in town or town houses with limited space. I think the big challenge will be the biggest group that could benefit the most or be most into modifing and working on cars might be more limited to pay for its use.(younger teen to college age) group in my day but also times have changed since i was a teen. Many teens now do not show as much intrest in them as years past from what I have seen but could be wrong.

I have no idea,, Its sounds good.. But, I have to tell you , I work at a dealership.. The folks I serve come here for all their modifications including their oil changes. They are not capable of performing any of the work we do for them,, that's why they are here.. They have the money, they don't need to get their hands dirty and they really don't want to. We get a lot of Mall crawlers,, the hard core tow their Jeeps here for warranty work and sometimes that doesn't work out so good for them sometimes..

I really appreciate the feedback guys. I know I started this thread directed at Car Club members but it's not limited to that specific clientele. Thanks again.

many of my land cruiser brethren do lots of wrenching themselves. plenty of major trail fixes at uwharrie...… a few do mods with better fit and finish than factory.
ok ......I admit it I am a hack..... but those guys are family to me.... much like everyone here, welcoming a curmudgeon like myself
