So I picked up a Ruger PC carbine recently and I’m really enjoying it. I’ve run a multitude of different 9mm through it with zero issues.

That being said, I’ve been trying to determine what ammo performs the best out of a 16” barrel. Has anyone actually done any testing with self defense 9mm out of a Carbine and what affects the extra length has on it?

...makes it go faster. ;)

Seriously, I've heard that it adds 100 fps.

Right, and I’ve read that the speed increase is greater for lighter bullets vs heavier. Most of what I’ve found is speculation, I’m just curious if anyone has done any actual testing.

Speed with bullet weight is nothing without knowing the twist rate. You'll want to try various to identify which is most stable with the twist rate of the rifle.

Ballistics by the inch is the bee's knees. I can't wait to see Tac Sol come out with their 12" shrowded barrel for these things to make them 16-18" OABL with a can tucked.
