I have several pistols I would like to add an optic too. I was told I need someone who can do mill work on the slide. Do you know of anyone in the Raleigh area who can do this? I’m not looking for the cheapest but the best.

What pistols are you trying to scope?? Some have "adapter" mounts available. There shouldn't be any "mill work" to be done, in most cases it's a matter of drilling and tapping. If you do D&T it will reduce the value of a collectible firearm...

I’d pm ncengravers here on the forum. Not sure if he cuts those models but wouldn’t hurt to ask. He’s in Winston but you could mail the slide. Look him up via google search, he does amazing work.
Those will require serious milling processes.... good luck...
I'd consider CZ Custom for the Shadow 2. Especially if you want to use it in Carry Optics division.
Weight needs to be cut out to make weight limit and since they do a lot of these, they know exactly where to cut it and whatnot.
