So, I took this precision rifle class last weekend. Part of the course was demo of different rear and barricade support bags. I tried a couple out and settled on a Wiebad Pump Pillow with a couple inner bags and an Armageddon Gear Game Changer....

yeah...that's a $340 price tag!

What the....why? I get they need to cover R&D, but....what...the...

So, while I normally just go ahead and pony up to support the innovators in the market, these just seem like gear-queer prices. Who's the knock off equivalent?

I don't know how many freakin' range bags I have accumulated...…. but one of the CrossTac bags is somewhat universal to front or rear. I tend to use it in the front and a Protektor "Rabbit ear" style rear bag with a couple of small pillows as needed. They weren't cheap either, but not $340!

My mother made a few bags for me, years ago. She took material from old jeans, made them into rectangles, and filled them with dry sand. They've worked well for me when I've needed them.

I picked up a rear bag from midway for $15 I also cut two pockets off old AirForce cammies and stuffed them will the plastic doll beads in ziplock bags grand total for all three bags $22

I went crazy on bags yesterday...

Rear Bag:

Lots of buzz for this one on Snipershide

Rear Bag/Pillow:

I was torn between this one and the Wiebad Pump Pillow. Price won.

Front:

Toss up between this and an Armageddon game Changer. Pretty much a coin flip.

I already have a Wiebad Range Cube on hand:

Love my Tab bag but the Precision underground caught my attention a while back. Seems like it would be better for field use than some of the more traditional bags.

Let me know how you like it. I may pick one up for coyote duty.

If I could only pick one bag, it'd be the Game Changer. However, I also have a smaller Chinese Cheater that is useful in some situations where the Game Changer is overkill. For a rear squeeze bag on a budget, a black dress sock filled to your preferred volume with dry rice (then tied off) is kinda hard to beat.

Sock and plastic BBs. Save the rest for classes and ammo

Yeah I took an old wool sock and filled it with dried rice. I've used it for years.

Socks and rice make great rear bags for shooting off a bench with a nice stable front rest.

But, even with my size 14s I don't think my socks would fill the 11x8x9" space that one of these bags fills. Or would be worth a darn on a cattle gate. Or when shooting from any number of barricade/props that come up in PRS style matches.
