(BUG MATCH) at the Range at Lake Norman
This week we are going to try something a little different. A Back Up Gun (BUG) Match

https://practiscore.com/competitive...uspsa-pistol-match-north-carolina-22/register

There are no minimum caliber requirements to shoot the BUG match and a lot fewer rules and procedures to learn than other popular competitions. Guns must be small enough to fit into a 5.5″ x 7″ box with your largest magazine inserted .
There are four divisions:
1
Backup Pistol: Semi-automatic pistols
2
Backup Revolver: Compact revolvers
3
Micro Gun: Smaller Subcompact handguns (these must fit in a 4.5″ x 5.5″ box)
4
Limited 5: full size guns may be used but they must start with no more than 5 rounds loaded

What You Need:

Ear and eye protection

The smallest gun you carry! Anything, even a .22, can enter. The gun must fit in one of the divisions listed above.

Approximately 70 - 80 rounds of ammunition

One extra reload method–spare magazine, speed-strip or loader, etc (More magazines will be required for big 5 division).

You will have the option to draw from a holster or pick up from a barrel
The stages:

The stages will be between 5 and 20 rounds (Well try shoot 4 or 5 stages depending on time)

BUG matches can be humbling ... and very eye opening. If someone runs a couple with their true carry gun and looks at the real world they’ll realize just how bad the odds are stacked against you if you ever face a self defense situation and you have your little subcompact and the thug has say a long gun and is on offense while you’re on defense.

In. Backup gun. This should be fun

Might be a good opportunity for someone thats been thinking about shooting their first match.

Damn, sounds like fun. Too far for me with Xmas travel on Monday. Yall have fun and keep em in the...er whatever ring.
