Nice revolver, glad it's working out for you. Here is my new (to me) revolver, replacing the killer Taurus UltraLite. This is the very sweet Rossi 971 .357/.38....nice and big, heavy, perfect! The trigger is nice and smoooooth. It's a joy to shoot this gun, unlike the other one I tried to live with.View attachment 105207
Remington R51.Strange...I thought only Sig ships new gun models before they’re ready for prime time.
I got a call this morning from Joe Neumann at Cimarron. He said he had gotten my email about the finish on my revolver and he wanted to talk to me. He explained how this was not a custom gun and they had no control over the finish of imported parts. I told him what his rep told my friend at SHOT. In the end, he told me to return it to the dealer and have him to return it to Davidson's under their Lifetime Guarantee program. This is what I'll do and I am done with Cimarron. I really wanted to like this revolver. Billy says if I didn't have that Great Western I'd be OK with this one. LOL Maybe...maybe not.Today I picked up a Cimarron Pistolero that was on order. When my buddy was at the SHOT Show he spent a lot of time at the Cimarron booth and he told me about the guns they had on display. He said fit and finish was excellent, action was smooth, trigger was very good. He asked the rep if the guns had been given extra attention since they were going to be display models. He was told no, these were pulled from the production line. What you get will be just like these. If not, send them back and we will make them right.
Last week, Davidson's had an exclusive on the nickel, 4 3/4 barrel Pistolero in .45 Colt and .357 Magnum. We both ordered the .357 Magnum. Mine has a lot of sanding marks that weren't polished out. The action is pretty smooth and locks up very tight. The trigger is very heavy and gritty.
I emailed them my concerns and the story that my buddy was told at SHOT. I'll see what they say.
I understand that it is a low cost gun and I wasn't expecting Colt quality. I was expecting better than this. My buddy's gun looks worse than mine.

Never once did Joe say I'm sorry or we can fix it. He was stuck on that's they way they are and we can't do anything about it. As he was blaming the imported parts I reminded him that Cimarron's name was on the gun. I really wanted to like this gun. This will be my final dealing with Cimarron.Well that's some hot mess. No control over parts ? Then they wrote a bad contract with the supplier. Sounds like BS to me, sucks you have to "Return it" under a Distributors guarantee because apparently the Mfr is an empty suit. Afraid thats so much more common these days, sub stuff out then point to another direction when theres a problem. Bleah.
