I'm planing on car pooling with a coworker to save on the ridiculous parking fees.

@ncengravers.com Are you going to be there?

What are they charging to park these days? Not been in a few years, that was one reason. Sucks when youre out 15 or so bucks before you even get in

$11/day admission + parking which I believe was $7 many years ago when I went. Decent show but I only went once and I won't be back. I have to buy a lot to offset the cost of getting in the door and when you've got vendors like ours on this site I don't need to go to a gun show...

Wow, so 18 before youre at a table

I’ll be there.

Parking was $5 for the gun show last time. They sometimes play games with the parking fee when different events are running concurrently. One year, there was a concert Saturday and parking for it was $10. If you told them you were there for the show, parking was $5.

And, for the record, the parking is all on City of Greensboro. The promoters have nothing to do with it and don’t see a dime of the money. As vendors, we get one parking pass. If we have more than one vehicle, we have to buy additional passes.

^^^^^^
Truth there... for what it is worth, the parking 'can' be a negotiable point between the promoter and the venue....
the additional passes have been $4 in the past.

Yep, if the promoter wants to pay more for the venue, thereby having to charge more for tickets.

no argument there... just hope they've sold more tables than last show.....

Indeed. Greensboro used to be the best show in the state and I haven’t missed it in more years than I care to count. I would like to see it thrive. The city isn’t making it easy but I think it can still be a great show with proper management.

Screw that dung hole and their city priorities. I go there for the state high school wrestling tournament. I have sent a letter to move the event. Parking was $7 a day and $15 daily fee for someone to see their child compete who had wrestled all year to qualify. Then the city robs the parents on food, admission, and parking. Most of the parents cannot attend due to the cost.

Alocal cith councilman mossed a cop signal turn left only and went straight towards I-40. They chased him down, charged him with endanging a government official, resisting arrest for asking what he did, and a traffic ticket. Of course it was all dismissed after a court date. The guy’s dad owns Most of the stock in a bank and his grandfather started the bank. Money is not a problem nor are lawyers willing to help.

So no to events at that venue.

So is the show worth the drive from Fayetteville?

It can be. Even with its failings, it is still a large show with more people set up selling collectible guns than you will find at just about any other show in NC. There are also a number of new gun dealers, along with ammo and reloading supplies. There are some vendors, mainly private individuals, who set up at Greensboro only, so it is a bit of a different mix than any other show around here.

Still has its fair share of flea market junk.

Ive always liked this show, but, as I said, just getting priced out of attending.

I went to this show a couple of times a few years back. I really liked it, it was the kind of show that you could spend a day at. But, due to the increase in total price of attendance, I stopped going. In hindsight, price for admission and parking is not that far off from a movie ticket and is cheaper than a round of golf. I might just go again this time.

Meh. It cost what it costs. Am I crazy about the price? No. But my brother and I go just about every show and my daughter has started going the past few. Hell the wives even went last one. It's a good day to all hang out together, maybe bump into a friend or two and if I stumble across a deal or something I want all the better.

Can you let me know if you see Bullseye Holsters and if they will be there Sunday? They make Kydex holsters while you wait. I hoped to catch them at the W-S show and they didn't show.

Thanks.

well, i'll be there.

it beats all the other shows i've been to in NC:
the two types in Raleigh, Winston-Salem, and Fayetteville.
the Dixie Deer Classic in Raleigh is great, but not for guns.

the total cost is similar to attending most movies (as posted above)
AND it sure is Better than than the Oscar Nominated ones.
the only criticism i have is the food available. pitiful.

Lots of people, but not many deals that I saw... though I didn’t look too hard lest I be tempted to spend money.

Too many kids selling raffle tickets, too many vendors on one side instead of spacing them out on the other side. :(

Worked it today. One of the cool dealers on the smaller side. The larger side is the lame side..

Busy show for me. I don’t sell much, but I always find myself hammered with people at the table.

To me it seemed like lots of people walking round with thing they were selling. I didn’t really ask but looked like people were selling.

One dealer in the large room showed up last night with a bunch of collectible Marlins and a couple Winchesters. I heard from a mutual friend that he sold out today. He had a Marlin 1894 in .32 H&R Magnum that I drooled over. Grail gun for me, but not at $1800. Someone wanted it that badly, though.

Pretty decent show for us. Way better than the last one. Picked up a couple cool milsurps and a Navy Arms Schofield that I was jonesing for since I saw it at the Winston show. I’m happy.

after action report:
1. bought some 270 Weatherby Magnum.
2. sold some Confederate money.
3. that was "pretty much" a wash.

Pretty good show for interest in CCGCI. Sold two personal handguns very quickly. Met some new folks. Well worth the $80.

unique for $18.75 a pound was good enough for me. Sold a few things, talked to a lot of people. Took my grandson to his first gun show. He prefers the swords. For now.

That was your grandson? Good on ya for taking him to his first gun show!

Don’t know if it was your boy, but I saw one lad holding a fake sword and made a comment to him that he “was more Spartacus than Corey Booker.” :D
