This bill will pass into law:

Constitutional Carry
Open Carry
Universal CCW reciprocity

And will make several other (positive from what I can tell) changes to SC firearms law including the removal of duty to inform.

Don't take my word for it, read it and contact your representatives in both the state senate and house here: https://www.scstatehouse.gov/senate.php
Use the "Find your legistalors" button on the right. Chrome doesn't work for me so I have to use firefox to get my message to send.

I strongly but politely told them (again) I wanted Constitutional Carry, Open Carry, Universal CCW reciprocity, and I don't want to have to inform when I am carrying (reasons elaborated) nor do I want red flag laws or military style raids on people homes to take weapons they are obviously not using at the moment to harm people (that isn't due process).

We have to beat these slack republicans over the head to get this stuff passed...there is no way this should have failed last time. Numbers matter...contact them if you want this to pass. Vote opposition if it doesn't!!

I'd like to believe it will pass but I won't be making any wagers. We've seen this play before.

I'm pretty sure my Senator is a co-sponsor of the Senate bill. I'll have to check the voting record of my House Rep. Perhaps apply a little heat if needed or show appreciation and support if deserved.

My prediction is law enforcement lobby will kill this DRT in committee. If it does pass will they continue to issue permits? If so what's the process? Is the 8 hour class and shooting test still required? Can you just send a photo and application like a passport no prints required? That will cost us reciprocity with states that require training to recognize out of state permits. If no permits will be issued and an SC resident travels to a state that requires possession of a permit to carry didn't we just lose?
I travel to NC several times a month (used to be daily) if I don't have a ccw ID card, under current NC law what's my carry status?
It's possible SC permits (if they still exist) could be recognized in more states due to automatic reciprocity where states issue reciprocity to other states that accept their permit.
For me the needed change is not addressed. My hope would be to make sign violations a citation not a misdemeanor.
It looks like if your state issues permits and you have one, you can carry in SC otherwise not. If that's not right why is SLED maintaining a reciprocity list? Maybe just for SC residents to know what states they may carry in?

Permits would still be available and valid for the same purposes they are currently.

I wish SC all the best ... I hope it will make it thru to the Governor’s desk and be signed but it won’t go without resistance from those within the state as well as quite a few from outside with big bucks.
