What blade are you carrying today?

upload_2019-1-24_1-38-41.jpeg

Been carrying this Kershaw brawler as my edc for last 2+ years. Every once in a while I’ll switch it up with another knife in the inventory.

Spyderco Rhino today. The more I carry and use this little "big" knife the more I like it.

I am carrying today what I carry most days, a Leatherman Juice S2.
Fit's nicely in a front pocket and has a great blade PLUS!

Picked up this Kershaw Chill after I lost my Leek. About $20 on Amazon. 3.1" 8cr13 blade, G-10 grips, moveable clip, nice and thin. Weighs 2oz.

I bought that Lon Humphrey Reaver a few weeks ago. I wanted to carry it horizontally on my belt, but it's just too long. So, I have been carrying it on my right hip every day for the last couple weeks.

I have gotten at least 2 compliments on it every day. But, I have also gotten some funny looks. Most people really like it.

I have worn it to my daughter's preschool, to pick her up in the afternoons, about 10 times. Her teacher keeps ribbing me about my new "sword" but she hasn't asked me to stop wearing it at the school, so that's a "win".

I really like it, but I'm planning to buy a shorter knife (Spartan Horkos) for scout carry. Then, this Reaver will go in a drawer, only to come out on special occasions like camping trips.

I'd be careful about that school thing... A Class 1 Misdemeanor might cost you your CHP and your shiny blade.

It's a private preschool. Glorified daycare. They don't follow the same rules as a real public school.

I appreciate your concern. I wouldn't wear it at the local public elementary school while picking up my older daughter.

Go shoot that G19... If you don't like it, I'll give you $100 for it. ;)

Wow. That looks really cool. By the time you are done, you'll basically have a folding karambit, right? I hope you post pics after you get the ring installed.

Exactly. Not that I needed another karambit but I liked the look, weight and thinness of the Matriarch. I'll post pics once the ring gets here.

After seeing @rantingredneck post about those Eafengrow blades and with extreme reservation I thought I might try one. I wanted to try sharpening a tanto blade on my wicked edge and thought for $19.99 this EF65 would be a good one to use. It is surprisingly well made, the grind was a bit uneven and I know it's not really D2 steel, but whatever it is will take a fine edge for sure. I can tell it is softer steel than my Benchmade 940 in S30V, but it came shaving sharp out of the box and after a bit with the wicked edge it is scary sharp. I was able to even most of the non-uniformity of the edge out on the coarser grits before working it up to 1 micron lapping film.

Supposedly it has ball bearings, I didn't take it apart but I have no reason to not believe it, its super smooth. It locks up tight too, there is no play at all. The detent that keeps it closed is very pronounced and provides enough resistance to ensure that it always opens fully when you press the flipper lever. Pocket clip is nice and thick and well made. Pretty neat, I'll probably get a few more of different models to satisfy my new toy addiction. I've handled my share of chinese junk but someone knows what they are doing over there making these.

I have the non tanto version of that one. A good "gentleman's knife" that doesn't scare the uninitiated.

That's the one that caught my eye as well, but like I said I wanted a tanto to try sharpening. I really preferred the looks of the non tanto! I've always disliked tanto because of the extra effort it takes to sharpen.

I thought the same thing, it looks like a nice gentleman's knife. I didn't expect how beefy the blade is!

I've got quite a few of their knives now. All have been very well made.

This one is still my favorite. I've stripped and cut wire, cut drywall, vinyl floor, you name it. It has held up well to the abuse and I've only sharpened it once. Doing some flooring work at the rental tonight in fact and it is going along for the ride.

A driver found this in a dumpster last week and gave it to me, so I retired the ADAMAS for a bit and started carrying this. Gerber Covert Fast

I've got one of these, but i haven't carried it in probably 2 years. Fun little knife.

Had the larger Gerber Combat Folder. Found it here in Afghanistan back in 11' and lost it here end of 18'.
