Who carries a spare mag?

I don't carry 2 for capacity. I carry 2 because Murphy is Alive. I Ain't working on a gun that goes tits up if I am in a situation that I need it. I'll just pull another.
Oh, I fully understand. Two is one and one is none. It's like carrying a full kit if spare parts that happen to be assembled. I carry two knives and two lights. On a practical basis one gun most of the time, but another is close by. Spare mags as well. If I could manage daily with two, I would. Actually, if I could, I'd carry a rifle and the primary handgun becomes the backup. We adjust to our individual circumstances. ;)

I've been looking for a better way to carry my spare but what I do currently is just drop it into my off hand front pocket. A 7 round XDs45 mag isn't that bulky so in most of my pants I don't really notice it.

The aforementioned mag carriers. Shield 9 with 9 in it. 20 more behind my left hip. Absent the Hyve baseplates this setup would be less comfortable. I forget they are there.

Amen, brother.
My CZ is for a 'Holy Shite' moment
My 442 in the pocket is for a 'Damn, I saw a CZ fail' moment.
Hopefully, that's enough to get me out of the AO and to my truck. If Mr Bad Guy follows me that far, he's got real problems on his hands lol

G19

1 in the pistol and 2 spares on me. I figure the additional weight of those two extra magazines is a helluva lot lighter than the weight of needing them and not having them.

Always carry two ,one in the right hand vest pocket, and one in the right hand cargo pocket , used to use a mag carrier on my belt, but with the the ever present flash light and knife it got a little crowded. since I only carry 8 rounders for my 1911 the weight isn't a problem

I normally carry 1 extra loose in my left front pocket. Also carry if there is a failure not so much round count.

Always at least 1 spare, regardless of gun. Weapons and mags are mechanical items; if you have to rip a mag out, you’ll need your happy mag to replace it.

BTW, if you talk really nice, CJ will make you a double singlestack holder in leather; very comfortable.

I carry 2 G43s in DeSantis Nemis holsters, every step, every day.
I like that idea, but I don't have two identical pocket pistols...
so I put a Beretta Model 70S in me right pocket, and a Colt Pony in me left pocket.
Spare mag for the 70S in an old snap-closed Buck folder sheath is on me belt.

Always at least one spare mag on my off hand pocket. 1911 mags are not too difficult to pocket carry being the thinnest magazines.

MORE IMPORTANTLY (in my opinion)
Round in the chamber, hammer cocked 24/7 on my carry and HD guns. The only guns without ammo chambered are the guns in my long - term safe.

That's where my spare cz50 mag is when carrying that gun ie folding knife sheath.

IWB or convertible mag pouches, side specific and because they're leather, they mold to your hip

Weight wise, the single mag will be very comfortable, lightweight, stable, and mold perfectly to your hip.

The double is more comfortable than other double mag pouches, but the weight of 2x double stacked full size magazines makes it noticeable like carrying a pistol.

I'd recommend single mag for the OP. Especially for comfort.

Lowest profile concealed carry of 2 mag I've found for those looking to carry more rounds discreetly.

Leather quality is better than Milt Sparks. (I've owned Alessi, Sparks, Rosen, DeSantis, Galco, etc)

Glock 19/26 ride in a T-Rex Arms Sidecar (appendix rig with mag carrier attached)
Have a home made kydex single fomi clip that I carry with my xdsc.

I highly recommend checking with chief Jason on his leather horizontal carriers.

Also if you carry a variety of different guns the pit bull tactical mag carriers work very well. Fit both single and double stack mags. Only complaint I have on them is the molded belt clip. I don’t trust it to not snap when iwb with my Fatboy belt. If you are wearing a thinner belt or an instructor style belt it’ll work great.

Usually carry at least two......if I'm single stack'n, then it'll usually be four spares...

I always have a spare. My appendix rig has a mag caddy, so I’ve got 17rds in the P-07 and a spare 17rd mag in the caddy. I usually have a spare 15rd mag in the truck or within reach too if needed.
