Got one, at 1/2 lb heavier than the winchester trapper, its much less goofy looking cause it has a 22" instead of 16" barrel. For asthetics, glad I got this one.

Cobbled together a scope mount to wring out the barrel until the right scope mount comes in(it was supposed to be in the box with the rifle, it weren't, so, fingers tapping as they get it righted up for me, via mail......tap, tap, tap....) Off hand at 20 yards the first 10 shots into 9 holes. Very nice at about 7 1/2 lbs loaded, slung, scoped and 9 spare 405's (3 hollow pointed) on the butt cuff. Easy handling and the 4.75lb factory trigger breaks clean after a very short/gritty take up. Prolly needs cleaned out. But for now.......if it shoots groups this size at 100 yards I'm gonna be happy. Real happy with the 20 yard group since its a slap on scope, grab a handful of hand loaded 405g bullets over a healthy charge of H380 ball powder and give it a whirl kind of test. (PS velocity is 1650 on these handloads, plenty of punch, recoil firm but no kick in the face.)

What I like: Price, no shipping, no tax, no credit card fee, decent barrel length, great wood to metal fit, nice carved checkering, super smooth barrel, very fine bluing, decent trigger, light, easy to scope (if yours comes with the damn base in the box like its supposed to!), taller comb for scope use, comes with sling swivel mounts installed, rubber recoil pad, seems to be reliable and accurate, much easier to shoulder and carry than the 4.3 ton 1886 lever action i am still trying to sell or trade off.....seems no one wants a heavy gun these days!

What I don't like: Red lacquer over rather pretty walnut, hard to extract a spent shell with a scope installed, needs to be cleaner when received (Trigger gritty), where the heck is my scope mount?

I think we're going to slaughter a buncha targets and animals this year. Off to the shop to load my round ball girl fart shells for quiet no recoil practice.

Much better. The right scope mount arrived so the cobbled mount came off and I tapped the holes 6x48 since they were a bit dirty now and installed the new mount with acraglas and screws with loctight. Should be rock solid for the ages and easy peasy to remove when ever I want. Also, the right mount was thickerer and its now easier to pluck the spent shells from the action, still won't be able to do it gloved but no worries. Now for a good zero session.

I love high walls. I dream of having one in evey caliber and a low wall in every caliber.

I had an original low wall that I rebarreled in .22 lr bentz , restocked in walnut and color cased. It came with the set trigger and auto ejector. Scoped it with a burris 4x12 and shot 22 shilouetts for many years with it. I think it was a 1902/1904 manufacture date. Sold it when I got tired of it. Nice gun. Prolly keep this high wall a while. Kinda like it. We'll see how she hunts this fall.

After a thorough cleaning, grease on the right places, eezox on the rest, no mechanical work to the trigger, sear or hammer hooks, cleaning only, the 4.75 lb gritty trigger is a smooth 1 lb 12 oz repeatable, no grit and only the tiniest take up to release. Not quite as good as the 14 oz factory trigger on the Merkel (which is adjustable by a lever from 14 oz, to 1 lb to 1lb 2 oz ranges) but more in line with what I would have expected and actually, quite a bit better. I would have been happy at 3 lbs, so nearing a target trigger with no work other than cleaning and lubrication, that's a bargain.

Only stoning done was on the extractor hook. Wire edges captured the case making extraction a chore and the circumference that contacted the case was smoothed with an 800g polish. Fired cases now drop out when extracted. I'll fire some more this weekend as a check, but I think it'll be fine, should be much less scuffing and marking up the cases too.

Ok. 25 yds leaning on a tree ant i can repeatedly hit the 3 inch swingers. Some fine tuning to do at 50 to set the zero to 125 yds and i love the trigger. Not to mention the push of 405gs at 1650 fps in this lil 7 lb rifle. Big fun!

Oh yeah. Extracting fine now. Raise the bbl snap the lever and the case springs out. It was just the wire edges of the hook dragging the case.

Now to shorten the stock for a t shirt and jacket. 14+ inches is a bit long in the butt.

What do you want to know?
How have you been enjoying the rifle since? Is it still doing everything you're wanting it to?
I am on the hunt for a Rolling Block I think. I would like to get into the single shot precision game. I have wanted to for about a decade, and am now making it happen! Hope to hear back from you!

I like it very much. It does everything I want and shoots better than I can hold it. I use it twice a year....one shot to check zero and one shot to shoot a deer. I'd sell it but don't know what I'd do with 400ish reloads I have on hand since I can't sell them.

The pedersoli rollers are decent rifles. They may have come further since I had them in the 90s and early 2000s, we usually took off the factory barrels and installed douglass or shillen for long range black powder shooting. The factory barrels were good for hunters and 200 to 300 yard target shooting and ok for 500 meter rams but not for further ranges for targets.

Single shot precision will likely require you handload black powder and lead bullet. Terrible time to get into handloading and casting anything, let alone buy a caliber of rifle/brass/ammo/bullets that is going to remain "out of stock" until long after the Biden/Harris/All Lives Matter/ANTIFA Armageddon Crazy has ended. I wish you luck in your endevours, holler with more questions, I might or might not know the answer but always have an opinion!
