i do not visit the store much, if I do, it’s to grab oil for the cars of hygiene stuff and I go around 630am on a Saturday. Ran in after work yesterday to get toothpaste and this is the third time I’ve seen this in this store.

The hi point carrier.... Quick recap
1: hi point sticking through the guys belt, between his belt and pants in the small of his back.
2: guy had it in a Serpa style holster with a 2ft extended mag that stuck out past his body.

This 3rd guy has his hi point in a serpa style holster, literally clipped to/in his front pocket. Just flopping around everywhere as he walked.

I question humanity and hate these people for making gun owners look like dumb trash.

Hi-Point $100 Grip & Finish In an attempt to boost their appearances and ergonomics, Hi-Point offers a massive list of additional custom-textured grips for many of their firearms. Besides for standards like camo and carbon fiber, these grips come in cool patterns like $100 bills, American Flags, Boa snakeskin, and skulls. Lastly, to ensure a better overall performance and quality grip, Hi-Point hydro-dipped their grips with a state-of-the-art durable coating and added modern ergonomic textures.

I've only seen two people in the last ten years carry a Hi Point. One young man at the gun show in Wilmington several years ago. Second at a Ford Dealership in Fayetteville. Each had a nylon holster but nothing dangerous just want they could afford I guess. Then again don't really stay in NC much even though my house is there.

CD

Ok, so one guy has his mag sticking way out past his body...and? What's different between that and OCing?
Is the gun flopping around a potential hazard? Maybe so.
But they are legally carrying a firearm and for non gun people they dont know how much a HiPoint costs vs a Kimber or something. They arent making us look any worse or better.

You’re right a 40 round or so mag that is longer than your body is wide, perfectly normal for OC

If you get a horse high enough, you won't see what they are carrying at all...
If they made a horse high enough that I couldn’t see the idiots in Walmart, carrying a gun like an idiot... I’d never get off.

It’s not about the cost of the gun. It’s how they carry it. Carry a Kimber dangling off your pocket with a 3’ magazine and you’re still an idiot.

Hell, I bet many on here carry more than 40 rounds on them each day. He's just doing it a little different.

Look, Im not a fan, but thats THEIR decision and they arent doing anything "wrong"

Carry what you can afford. If you carry just make sure that the firearm is secured in the holster and the holster is secured to your body. I have carried almost every way possible, but I now only use the holster method.

So what does Walmart have to do with any of that?

The high concentration of inbreeders is what us wrong with that place. Try Siler City WalMarts for white trash, neck tattoo, OCing just plain nasty. Go on friday about dark. For neck hair raising feel like you are about to get robbed, go on saturday night about midnight.

Seems like that’s the only place you see that stupid crap. I’m with both JMCC and MM on this one. Those guys deserve a pat on the back for carrying and a boot in the ass for doing it so badly.

And you know all that because you frequent those locations at those times?????? That was question not a statement.

Everybody doing something you don't approve of = idiot, got it

If you are seeing someone do something blatantly dangerous with a firearm that’s one thing. But not liking the way they are doing something that is perfectly legal is another. I don’t like Uncle Mikes holsters, hi-points, or those crazy long magazines. But I don’t get to dictate other people’s behaviors as long as they aren’t harming anyone.

Some Walmart yard defenders in here

Not defending anything. Just asked what Walmart had to do with what you were complaining about.

Let’s face it. People are weird. A lot of people hang out at Walmart. Therefore a lot of weird takes place at Walmart.

True that and one more thing. Ya can't see what goes on at Walmart ifna ya ain't at Walmart.

Oh, no doubt!
I do my grocery shopping there...at 8am (sometimes 9) on a Sunday morning.

There was a guy carrying a C9 with a nylon Holster at the Angier Wtuesday night. I was there for my grandkids ball games. I dint think a thing of it. I wish I saw more people carrying.

If it was clipped into his pocket, with a 756 round mag flopping around everywhere or stuck in his belt WITH NO HOLSTER. Like a pirate and his sword, I bet you would think something of it.

I see almost as many freaking weirdos at Lowe’s Home Improvement as Walmart. Only difference is Lowe’s will close earlier so they go over to Walmart. They will get customer service at Walmart and the selves will not be empty with everything boxed on the upper rack.

My thing with the "floppy" open carry is that dudes a target for a bad guy wanting to do bad and wants a gun. Easy to RIP away and take it. Firearm brand not the problem. My family's safety is. No problem with open carry as long as you're aware. Not saying we carrying concealed cant be overtaken but they gone have to work for it! :)

I have no problem with open carry either, not sure how the uptights turned it this way.

The flopping thing is not good.
If it was dangerous as in falling to the floor and going off, I’d ask him why he is carrying it that way and maybe let him know his actions aren’t helping anyone.
Some people just don’t know any better.

No one is being uptight, just not really seeing an issue with people carrying in the ways that bother you.

And as far as “makes them a target to get it ripped away”, this can easily be said for >any< open carry that doesn’t have a retention device built in. And I have yet to find an example, anywhere, of this fantasy happening where a bad guy sees the firearm and decides to grab it then go on a rampage or even targets that person first.

I’m not a fan of open carry. But all of the “you’ll be singled out!” “A bad guy will grab your gun!” scenarios just never really happen.

See, I find this reassuring. In this scenario I am not the primary threat, so I am not first target. If I am accidentally first target of opportunity, someone else is likely to do something to take the attention off me. The only downside is getting shot by some jag off dude floppy carrying.

Here's how I carry these days because it's more comfortable to me than IWB (which I've done plenty of). What's comfortable to me, please accept my apologies, is more important to me today than what may be comfortable to you. Situation-specific, I may put on a second shirt, coat, vest (or bathrobe if I'm going into Walmart:) ), when I feel like it.

FWIW, Pretty much all striker-fired pistols look like Hi-Points to me. ;)

[literary genre = humor]

Maybe these folks with the long mags are just using the firearm as a holster for their nightstick/baton?

people always going on about people at Walmart and highpoint users. I have no problem with either. My question is these people who complain about the crap going on in Walmart always hate Walmart. Then why go there if you know there is going to be those Walmart people you hate there...
