Wife just told me about it. Since she works in Mooresville a lot of her friends are talking about it.

Sad to hear. My condolences to the Gentlemen's family.

Mooresville is not the place I grew up in anymore. I'm glad I'm gone from there.

Very unfortunate. I hope the person who did this is caught quickly.

He offed himself when he got home. Self inflicted gunshot wound. Found him in his apartment.

Thanks, I only saw the video on cable at Sheetz, no audio.

Guy kills cop. Goes home and immediately kills himself. Doesn’t sound like a criminal activity killing. Sounds like a mental issue.

Sheldon was a good guy and will be missed by many people most who barely knew him. I had met him 7-8 times, he was always smiling never heard him have a negative thing to say.

I heard the same from a friend of a friend who worked with him. It’s a shame all the way around.

Traffic stop. But maybe the driver had just done something worse and thought that was the reason he was stopped.
Or he was just bat guano crazy. At least he saved taxpayers the cost of trial and incarceration.
No, that’s what I’m saying. There was nothing bigger. Rumor is he truly killed the officer over a traffic related offense.

Terrible news for the officer's family, friends, and coworkers.
They do a difficult job, one that I would not volunteer for, putting their lives on the line for not much more poverty level pay.
Respect goes out to the good ones, and it sounds like this guy was part of that group.

I85 N shutdown for procession to funeral home in Concord and saw this on WT Harris.

I heard on the radio that this same scene was on display a little farther up 85 from Concord, Kannapolis, and one other FD who I can’t recall.

Really cool to see the level of support throughout the CLT region!

FYI...
