What are you drinking?

Picked both of these up over the weekend.

I like the Oban, could give my usual Islays a run...tad smokey, little bit of peat, little touch of salt.

The Burning Chair Bourbon.... I'm undecided, came highly recommended, gets high reviews, little too fruity for my tastes I think. Similar to Hibikki I think, pretty heavy fruit presence and tastes a little too much like a heavy red wine, could be good with a rich dessert I think.

Well it's 5:00 somewhere.

This has probably been posted already but if not, then here it is:

Dang. That stuff above is some mighty fine beer. I'm not a bourbon drinker but this stuff seems to have some in it because it makes my chest warm when I drink it.

I think I enjoyed drinking that beer more than any beer I have ever had in my lifetime. So much so that I'm going to stop after one because I only have three left. They came in a four pack. They're definitely not cheap but I can see why.

I’ve had a sinus thing all week, so I’m burning it out of my head tonight while tying flies and being attacked by a little lady who’s decided she can walk. @Chdamn hates me because he has to take medicine for a week and I kill a 1/5th of whiskey to get to the same end.

Yeah I’ve tried that route several times. I still do it but with antibiotics.

Go ahead BOG and thrillhill and post pics of your bottles. I’m still excited. 13 year old bottled in bond. Never had Pappy, but I’ll soon be able to cross this one off my bucket list. Cheers!!!

Also picked these up today. Heard there is a world-wide shortage of HP18. The Ezra is another somewhat limited release and is very tasty. Cheers!

I've never seen the 13 in the wild, can get the 9 pretty much any day, but the 13 is a ghost.
I’ve never seen the 9 around here. You do seem to be able to get the good stuff!

Had a gift in the mail from the West Coast today

Sippin' a Unibroue La Fin du Monde after noshing on some havarti with caraway & a small pile of mediterranean olives.

Got to sip on some fine spirits last night with some friends. EH Taylor rye was incredible & the Elijah Craig Small Batch Barrel strength was superb, but the Jefferson Wood Experiment was mindblowing. Very small batches where they played with barrel types, different woods & techniques for charring & aging. Don't recall which one exactly we tried, but it was dangerously smooth, with a very subtle sweetness.

I found this last night and it is pretty damn tasty and this evening headed down towards Concord to drop off some race car parts and pick up a bottle Old Fitzgerald 13 year that A friend got for me.

This is really really good sipping whisky on the rocks. Ive found my brand. I ve tried about a half dozen including Whislte Pig at $85 a bottle. Apples and oranges but for $25 or less a bottle, this is da bomb!

Jimmy have you had the Dickel small casks. It is pretty good and price right.

Agreed. I also enjoy telling my wife I’m going to tickle my Dickel.

Yes I am still 12.

I do enjoy the Dickel Rye. My fave right now, and for the forseeable future, I am digging Old Grand Dad Bonded. Same price range and sits between a rye and bourbon.

Tyrconnell Irish Whiskey.

Of note, this is no longer a Monday whiskey around here. It is dangerously smooth. I didn't mean to get drunk on a Monday. It just sorta happened.

That was my go to Irish when I was on an Irish kick. Great value.

Elijiah Craig for me tonight. Relaxing a sore back the old fashioned way.

Tyrconnell used to be a pretty good bargain, as well. I haven't looked in a while, is it still reasonable?
