I have made a decision to buy 2 cans right now. Was thinking one that could run on a 300 BO. 308, 6.5 CM and 223. And one for either a 22 RF or 9 MM. I would like to get one for the rifle and one for the pistols. I have shot a few different cans but really did not pay much attention to the model. Is on easier to clean than another? Ease of mounting on different barrels. Right now, my bolt guns are not threaded and pistols will need new barrels.

If and only IF things work out by the end of the year I might add another can maybe just for a 22 caliber rifle.

Looking for suggestions / Trust is established.

I started off with a .30 cal (TBAC) and .22 cans (element II). Bought another 22 (element II) can next because it was on sale and that much fun. Then came the 45 can (rugged) and another 22 can (TBAC). Lol

You might see a pattern happening...

I do have a couple more TBAC's in 6.5 and .30 cal as well, that sadly havent even had a round put through them yet.

.22:
Dead Air Mask
Rugged Oculus
Element 2 (if you can find one...insanely quiet but “older”)
Griffin Optimus Micro (can use on 5.56 also but is “heavy” for a .22 pistol...but less than 2 ounces heavier than a Spectre 2, a popular can)

.30
YHM Resonator
Rugged Razor
Dead Air Nomad
Griffin Optimus (jack of all trades; can be used on 7.62 and 9mm but it will probably get old swapping it out and you’ll buy a dedicated can after six months)

@11B CIB, I agree it will be a PIA changing them out from gun to gun, but I have to start somewhere. I know it is not optium having a 30 cal can on a 6.5 CM and 223 AR but it should help some (my guess). Not sure how much.

Dedicated 9mm vs 45 is like dedicated 5.56 vs 30cal... sure you save ~3db (which your ear won't pick up on) but you lose a ton of modularity between hosts. Suppressed 22 is as fun as it gets. I say 22 can first, 30 cal next then 45 cal pistol can (which will also run your 300 bo subs).

Some would argue 30 cal is better on 223/5.56 due to back pressure/gas in the face. I absolutely love my Rugged Razor on my MK18.

Also IMO shooting suppressed pistols gets old really fast with the exception of 22LR. Now PCC's... that's a different story.

Depends on the can as well as the gas system. I have zero blowback with my 5.56 cans.

Many cans, like my Omega, have swappable end caps. So, in just a couple seconds I can swap from an end cap with a .30 cal bore to one for .223.

No offense but I seriously doubt that.

I believe it. I'm a lefty shooter, so I really feel the blowback coming through the ejection port on my 9mm and 300BLK SBRs. With a rifle length gas system and .223 I don't feel it at all.

@JustKeepSwimming has shot all my rifles. He can tell you.

ANY excess gas is bled off either at the block or at the receiver.

Now, we aren’t talking about gas coming down the barrel and down into the mag well...that’s unavoidable. But there’s no blowback that hits you in the face.

2 of my 223 ARs are piston driven. Does that make any difference in considering what can to look at. The others are DI some 16" to 10.5".

Dead Air Wolfman. Look it up. Runs handgun calibers and 5.56 for a ton of versatility.
