12 dead and 6 more injured as long time city employee opens fire in Virginia Beach...

I know a guy who was supposed to be in the building today, but his meeting was canceled.
 
Moving past the tragedy itself, apparently firearms were purchased legally and at least one was suppressed. So says the articled linked above.

A web page on the MyLife.com listed information about a Virginia Beach resident named DeWayne Craddock as being 40 years old and having a birthday on Oct. 15, 1978. It lists him as a Black registered Democrat and Christian who is married.

Heavy.com produced a photo of DeWayne Craddock that showed an image of a Black man.

If it does turn out that Craddock was the gunman, the fact that he is Black would offer a unique narrative surrounding the spate of mass shootings that have been taking place across the U.S. in recent years.

Anyone notice the last shooting has been a news blackout. My wife says she has yet to see anything on it, as it fades from the public eye. :cool:

That suppressor must’ve been homemade from an oil filter since the story is he got multiple firearms in recent weeks.

Once again, we see that these sorts of events are only curtailed and stopped by the judicious application of hard force. Once again, while there are no guarantees, it is entirely possible that an armed person on the scene could have stopped the threat long before the government agents could respond via their Dial a Prayer system. Undoubtedly, being a municipal complex “guns were prohibited” likely because the stupids we’ve allowed to dictate believe it would keep them safe.
 
I read that he was a "recently fired" employee.... In this day and age, HOW THE F@@K DOES A FIRED EMPLOYEE STILL HAVE HIS DAMN BADGE?

This goes back to my adage of never firing an employee on a Friday. HR will moan and groan about making a "clean cut off" but their always insulated from where the employee works so their in a safe place. I still do it my way and have never had any incident like this. (knock wood).....

Chances are he was terminated early when he came in but "someone" failed to deactivate his badge in the system....

I’ve read that Friday is not the day to fire someone. It doesn’t give them time to do anything like even go file for unemployment. Instead they get to stew about it over the weekend. It’s harder on them and more dangerous for the employer.

Edit to add, a guy who is hell bent on killing like that isn’t going to be stopped by a locked door either.

I've read multiple reports of employees hearing shots fired from other locations in the building, at least one of them before the cops got there so they can't go with the narrative that he was able to kill more people because it was "silent". Of course saying anything they want regardless of the facts is SOP so it's hard to predict how they will spin it.

I saw on the boob tube a woman being interviewed who said she was in another building and heard the gunfire. I think maybe a fake suppressor or flash hider,,, I don't know. If he had a can on it must have been the world's worst. I'm willing to bet that most media people couldn't tell a can from a kielbasa.

If "news" does not fit the liberal narrative it is not reported.

My SBR came back in something like 10 days (I'd have to look back at the thread to see for sure, sorry)
Not sure if suppressors are coming back as quickly or not.
