Our "pro-Second Amendment" president will be moving to ban suppressors next....

Good thing there isn't some central registry with current names and addresses of all legal suppressor owners.... Oh, wait.
Worst part there is you can’t use the “I sold them in non-NFA configs” line, like you could with most SBRs and SBSs.

I was getting ready to pull the trigger on a suppressor. Not happening for a while. Maybe I'll go the build my own stamp out of a fuel filter so I don't get fked like the bumpstock guys.
There are a lot better options than filters. ;)

But all the Libetarians gave a pass to VP nominee Bill Weld "As governor of Massachusetts, William Weld supported various gun control schemes, including a ban on semi-automatic firearms. Unfortunately, and despite being the Libertarian candidate for vice president, Weld continues his anti-gun ways."

No they didn’t. lol. Libertarians were not at all pleased with the Johnson/Weld ticket last go ‘round considering it pitted the two most reviled candidates in history against each other.

lol

Just admit you're all for big, intrusive government, massive foreign intervention, and massive domestic debt.

I agree fully. To open up the NFA for adjustments will be interesting.

I think that if Trump follows up on his words he will loose in a big way. I now think he feels that suppressors are a olive branch to the left.

We will see.
An olive branch to left? The left that calls for his head daily? I think not.

I still don't know which can this dude owned.

Remember folks, it’s NOT enough to sound off only here in the echo chamber.

Contact the White House, tell them politely that you don’t appreciate any further regulation of suppressors. Explain the benefits of them.

As it is, when I’m watching tv with my SO & her daughter, I have to turn the Tv up to 60 on the volume & she says to me “you poor deaf man”... :(

My new hearing aids came with an interface to broadcast audio to me over bluetooth....

This issue of liberty will only be resolved by folks who wish to keep it....

Not politicians, not organizations, not by folks clad in black robes.

We are on our own, folks.

Bump stocks were nothing but a beta test and many of us said, “It won’t end there...they will keep pushing.”

Now, it’s suppressors. If they manage to push that through, think there gonna stop there?

Fat f*ing chance. With every accessory/device they manage to “outlaw”, it only emboldens them to go further.

I honestly look for this to go down much like it did in 1930s/1940s Germany...guns/gun owners catch the blame for the ills of society...whores in the media do their part to push the narrative...harassment by .gov which starts subtle, but progressively becomes more violent in nature...

“That’ll never happen here/to me.”

I would caution anyone thinking along those lines to stop, because it is one of the most dangerous mindsets an individual can have. Don’t ever fall into the trap of believing, “Not here...not in the good ol’ US of A.”

It’s happened before...it can happen again.

Will it? Who knows? I’d like to think it won’t and I hope it doesn’t, but no way to know for sure.

What I am certain of, though, is that neither me nor those I care for are getting on a f*ing train.

The issue with suppressors is NFA classification is a firearm to restrict them. A bump stock was never classified as a firearm.

The opening of the NFA to unclassify suppresors is the only route i can see. To do that i think is going to be harder then most think.

But i could be wrong.

The vast majority of Americans will surrender everything just like they did their gold 90 years ago.

I wonder what line someone with an R next to their name would have to cross to actually not vote for them.
When the ballot looks like this, I'll vote against the R:
  • [ ] Joe Democrat: Will work tirelessly to harass, subjugate, incarcerate, and disarm you using any means possible.
  • [ ] Sam Republican: Usually leaves you alone except in kneejerk reaction to a shooting. Occasionally will throw something positive your way when he needs your vote.
  • [ ] Bill AnythingElse: Will uphold the 2A and actively work to remove the infringements that exist today.
But when the ballot has just the first two, how would you vote?

Trump is about as shallow as a puddle... for better or worse. Someone close to him has about a year to explain [to him] why he's losing rural voters.

Winning and losing is all that matters to him; he has no personal feelings on guns / accessories regardless of what sound bytes the media catches.

Kellyanne Conway's data apparatus was one of the biggest determining factors in his victory behind the scenes. She is one original sycophant that's still with him; probably the key to bringing him "back in line."

At least the first option you can knowingly fight against like was done under Obama. They are honest about their intentions.

The second option has half of their constituents backing because "the other guy is worse." Yet option two will ultimately pass more anti-gun legislation, and anyone that questions it has their patriotism and morality second guessed.

Option three on the other hand will never have a chance, because everyone that is part of option two's party will claim them as being unwinnable. Therefore, option three won't win and then the backers of option two will point and laugh in how they were right that option three could never win.

And if Trump bans suppressors, he won't get my vote in the next election. I don't care who is the Democrat nominee at that point.

How many things did Obama ban? I mean national bans, not "Well in California..." etc
Just curious.

Surplus ammo imports.....wasn’t the 7n6 or whatever the surplus AK ammo his shindig?

Yes, it was 7N6. 5.45x39. I still feel the effects of that one today. He also nearly succeeded in getting M855 banned as well.

I is confruzed, I thought the VA shooting was the first time a can was used in a crime, the petition states "With over 1.3 million sound suppression devices legally owned in the United States, on average only 40 crimes per year are committed with these devices.". That same quote is on multiple 'news' interweb pages. Is that stat from folks that get busted illegally rolling their own, not (violent) crimes?

Repeal NFA --> https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/petition/repeal-nfa

If Trump bans suppressors, I'm voting for Bill. Same outcome but at least I'll know I did the right thing.
