Can we get a transfer cost thread going?

Not a direct answer to the OP but: For less difference than the cost of a box of range ammo, I'm not driving outside of the local area unless I also want to shop at the "remote" gunstore. My time, car wear and tear, and gasoline have value also. The transfer fee is part of the price when "saving money" when not buying locally.

Atlas Firearms in Winston Salem (if no one has posted them) is $20 cash or $25 credit\debit

This just in.... Gander Outdoors has apparently done away with their transfer fees. Multiple locations throughout the state. Check with the one closest to you.

May be a promotional thing to get people into the store. Maybe not a bad idea for them.

Carolina Sportsman outfitters in Henderson does free transfers with ANY purchase. Buy a two dollar box of 22's transfere is free.
Don’t forget the tax on that box of ammo. :D

I do them for $20 for one gun, $5 each additional gun transferred at the same time.

My BIL finally got his permit back after going through a BS DUI issue in MA.
He's getting me thr details for that end.
I know I need to initiate the transfer through an FFL in NC.
3 pistols. 2 rifles.
Moving to temp adjustment this wel in Cary.
Checking with thre wealth of knowledge here to assist in making sure I do this right.

The initial transfer was "custodial" not an ownership transfer so he should be good getting the pre ban rifles back.

Louis and Roxanne are good people.

I don't use them but talk about a ripoff. The Range at Lake Norman. $60.00 for a non member transfer and $30.00 for a member.

NFA Transfers – all NFA transfers have a $150 transfer fee, plus your tax stamp

Public Hardware in Durham is $35 with CCH, and $45 without.

Not that anyone is going to use them, but I am nevertheless adding to the database.

What need now is for a Mod to break this down by county. Then each county in alphabetical order. Them in each Co list from cheapest to lowest:D

Please list hours of operation also

there's a lot of money at lake norman so they are wanting their fair share.

Carolina Gunrunners is $30+tax - $32.17 EACH no matter how many they put on a single 4473

If you are in Youngsville or really Franklin county/Nothern Wake you need to do your transfers with Pop n Shots. Located just outside of Youngsville between downtown and US1z Roy is a home based FFL and is awesome. Charges $15 for the first SN and $5 for everyone after in the same transaction

Flexible with pickup time and can’t recommend him enough. Let him know Kevin sent you.

Do you have any contact details?

you can probably google the name and location. thisusually works.
I did, but not being an "actual" company - I.E. it's a person with an FFL at home by the sounds of it, I wanted to make sure what's out there is right - seems like @22Rimfire has used them regularly so would be able to confirm.

I guess when you mean actual business you are referring to a brick and mortar store front. He is not that. He does run a business though and not only does very reasonable transfers but gets firearms at better prices than any shop I’ve visited around here. It’s worth giving him a call if you are looking for a specific firearm. He can’t beat PSA on prices obviously but everything else he has quoted me has been extremely reasonable price wise.

Contact number is 919-815-7701. Again tell him Kevin sent you. I’ve probably been to over 40 shops over the years and for my transfers I don’t go through anyone else.

Thanks!

Man where are all the CLT or Gaston County dealers that are only $10. I don't even mind $20 if you get a discount on multiples.
This.Right.Here

$20 per stripped lower with no multiples discount is nuts on a $50 item. Especially since CHP holders don't even do anything but fill out a form and show ID to file. 5 minutes worth a work, $60 for 3 lowers

I've used Neil at TR Guy in Concord ($20), Jim at Homefront Firearms in Mooresville ($10), and Tim at Northlake Firearms ($20) in Charlotte. All have been great, but sadly Jim doesn't do transfers any more.

I didn't see Tim mentioned in this thread and he deserves one. He's easy to work with, knowledgable, and accomodating.
