Hey Everyone, Frank and I have been toying with a new idea. We tried making a dual layered, dual colored holster. Its our very first one so just a prototype for now. We are working with another company to see if we can cut a design into the outer layer so the inner layer would show through. Would this be something that interested anyone?

For an OWB it may peak my interest, but for in IWB kydek that wont be seen, it is usually just an added expense for little if any added benefit. But they do look pretty awesome.

My Maxim might need one. Some kind of logo cut into the outer piece. Or maybe PEW PEW PEW. :D

We are working on that next!! We want to perfect this one first and go from there, maybe a couple weeks out

I was just talking to someone, They said it emits chlorine gas when laser cut. He has a cnc machine which will work but won't get the details. Is this true about laser cutting and chlorine gas?
Acrylic polyvinyl chloride will produce chlorine gas when burned, but the effect could probably be minimized with proper ventilation.

I've seen quite a few like that. I do like the look of the interior kydex showing through. Looks cool.
If the front cutouts are too detailed the exterior layer can be kind of flimsy.

I'm on board with the idea!

I have a very advanced setup on my laser because I run it 4-6hours a day. I smell nothing. I can be 1 foot from it and smell nothing. everything gets sucked out of the room and existed outside.

I personally wouldn’t be interested in something like that. Looks like it’s pretty thick and that’s the last thing I want in a IWB rig.

When we made this, we used a thinner index, .60 thickness, all our other holsters are .80. So it is a little thicker but I have been wearing it for 2 days now and haven't noticed a difference. It doesn't print any more than a single layer would.

Keep in mind @Derek8404 wears those skinny jeans...

I have a friend that’s been doing this for several years now, it looks really cool but unless you use an extremely thin kydex the holsters end up being really thick.

Red hill tactical sells the crap out of these things to competition shooters, I would say make sure it can be drilled for a boss hanger and you've got a winner. As for the designs and colors showing through, people seem to love personalized stuff. Competition shooters will literally pay to buy a jersey with logos all over it for the same discount you can get by searching for a discount code or buying in bulk.
