Due to a past shoulder injury and still wanting to compete in two gun matches, I was looking for a softer recoiling bird shot ammo and I heard that Aguila made short shells so I looked into it.. Unfortunately, they will not feed into most pump or semi autos correctly. Fortunately for me,, there is an adapter manufactured by Opsol based out of Texas that will allow correct feeding if you have a Mossberg pump action shot gun. Lucky me, that what I have so I bought the adapter for $15 and 100 rounds of the ammo for 40 cents a round and headed to the range.. The installation of the adapter was easy peasy, it just slides in..These short shells are amazing, the felt recoil is at least half and the Mossberg pump feeds them easy with no problems. Lots of Up sides here,, I can now load 9 shells as compared to 5, that's good for competition or home defense. If you have a single shot, double barrel or over under, these will help with recoil sensitive people like women, pre teens or wimpy people like myself..Hope this helps..

Tried them in my KSG the other day and I was less than impressed. Even without the feeding issues I was having, what do you shoot with that little lead and powder? Ended up selling 2/3 boxes to a random guy at my range for $10 a box they ticked me off so bad.

What am I shooting ? Steel plates and pepper popper targets, both of which fall quite nicely with these loads. Another great thing about them is that I can load two shells at the same time into the tube faster then I could load just one full size which will save me a lot of time. When your hunting this does not matter much, but in a timed event its everything. Like I already mentioned, I can now teach my grandkids or the wife how to shoot a shot gun with out it scaring the crap out of them. I'm sorry they didn't perform to your expectations but you got a good price for them at the gun show.. Ive found a source that sells them to me for just a lil over $8 a box which makes them just a little more expensive then true 12 gauge shot shells, but its worth it to me. I just threw this post up there to let folks know of an alternative and that I really appreciated your experience.

Probably calibrated for pistols rounds, not for 12 ga slugs.

Wish my 3gun shotgun with 12rnd tube would run these. Could finish a whole stage with just the tube!

I think these are neat. They clearly have a use. And some applications they are not effective for, like most shotgun shells.

They make mini slugs as well.I am considering getting a 12 ga shockwave if the adapter works and loading it with mini slugs for home defense.
They make slugs and #4 shot as well. I suggest you use the original designer of this adapter instead of some foreign manufacture bought off Amazon. The link is below.

Check the link and he will explain why his latest version works best and the foreigners have yet to copy his latest design. I bought mine from my local gun shop for $15, it might be available at yours also. Hope this helps..

The OpSol adapter works great for me in a Shockwave so far. I've run 100 Aguilla Mini Slugs through it with zero feed problems. I am considering one for my Mossberg 500 HD shotgun. It's relatively inexpensive, but I am wondering if removal for cleaning and re-installing will cause it to wear and loosen up over time.

I have the adapter for my Mossberg 500. It works great. The tiny shells are fun to shoot, and it allows my wife to try/learn a shotgun. I have the Remington 870 Super Magnum and some 3.5s to abuse my friends.

I think that it would, personally Im not all that concerned since I hardly ever use the shot gun and I'm not really all that big on cleaning.. The receiver stays pretty darn clean and all I really do is clean the bore and then run some lube down it .
