2nd Annual Battery Oaks Fall Meet and Greet

You will not be heckled for your firearm. We are friendly to all firearms. You may get heckled for something else, not your firearm....

I might shoulda put a ;) in my original post. I'd be disappointed if there wasn't a little good natured ribbing goin' on & I'm prone to silliness like showin' up for a rimfire steels match with a lever action & s/a revolver :D

There will be single action revolvers on the grounds, I promise.

Today...we installed a 20X20 shade and rain shed On The Range proper. It's wired and now we need to get it "hot". Lights and outlets for fans. Night shooting til 10 now and we can regulate the amount of light for new training exercises. An old Alumni will run the power and has a great "trencher". He uses an old chain saw to run the wiring in the ground.
There's a lot to do here and thanks to all who help. I am hoping Johnny and Burt Gummer are coming early in October to help. Any body that can shake loose Friday to come help can take a chance on accomadations. Gunbelt is in the Bunk House for sure and any others that can co-habitate with a wild man. The porch will take care of a dozen sleep bags and the shower will be operational. An outside shower is a religious feeling.
Hashknife is in for an early helper and sure he will be here.
Probably can't happen but I think everybody would love to see the Owners and Mods all together. I would.
Chad has promised some of his brisket. Garvin will again give us bacon and eggs for Saturday morning.
My hope is that all of you will be coming here 20 years from now....Remember me when the buzzer goes off for the first time.

I wouldn't mind a spot in the bunkhouse, if that's okay by you. I have successfully shared a roof with Curt, so no worries there :D More than happy to pitch in & help Friday & Saturday. What can I bring?

Bunk House is fully occupied. The porch will accommodate a dozen sleeping bags at least. Curt, Burt Gummer, and Hashknife are in the Bunk House.

Sorry Folks...this year this is Mandatory. Only you and the shooting Gods will know if you don't really carry a 6 inch, 20 shot, compensated, Crunchinticker. The starting position this year will be seated at a table with your blaster concealed on your person.
Concealed means....hands straight up fully extended, 360 degree turn around, I see nothing...you are ready to be seated.

I carry different guns to suit my mood. One day I'll carry the Glock, one day I got a 3" 45lc Bird Head on me, one day I got a 1911 shorty, today I got my 5906. Can I shoot 4 times?????

We are still working and planning on this year's meet and greet, October 19, 2019. Our plan is to make it better than last year. Make your plans to come and be a part of it.

Can I claim a spot on the porch in advance, cuz if I have to fight for it in real time, I'll be sleeping standing up -- unless there's a place I can rig my Hennessy hammock.

Let's face it -- my 'roughing it' skills ain't what they used to be. :(

Last year they were sleeping in hammocks in the trees.

We are about 3 months out and things are really looking good insofar as attendance. PLEASE, surely somebody can give us a video to remember this meeting by. Last year we had full autos, surpressed autos, 50 B&Ms and 50 BMGs all firing away and even an MP5 from a briefcase. Let's have somebody step up and get together with others and give us all a whiz Bang video of the carryings on.
Also, I'm going to ask Michael if the early arrivals and helpers on Friday the 18th can get a walk through of The Dead Zoo and B&M HQ and Indoor 50 Yard Range. On Friday afternoon we will all go to The Salt Water Grill for supper and refreshments.

If you are fortunate to go, you will be amazed.

I'll bring still and video cameras then.

I have a go-pro and another compact camera. I'm good at gathering raw footage. Not as good about making it into a whizbang video.

Thanks for stepping up and doing this for CFF and the Battery Oaks Event.... MUCH Appreciated...!!

I am not what you call a professional, but I'll be glad to do what I can. No promises as to quality though.

Things are still looking promising. I never know my work travel schedule until a couple weeks out.

I do not own many firearms. I am willing to make up for lack of toys to share by bringing bratwurst or such. Do you set up and grill there, or do you pause and go offsite for food?
