Your latest alcohol purchase

Rebel Yell 10? Lol! Any good? I'm a fan of their regular stuff as well.

Haven't tried it yet. It was in the top 20 of the year (2017 I believe) as rated by Whiskey Advocate Magazine and I had been wanting to try for a while but never found any. So, it's "highly rated" but until Miss Shirley and Mickey hooked me up I hadn't been able to find out. Maybe we'll open it next time you are over and see what we think.

That sounds like a plan, brother.

Can not find some of those others have bought but these followed me home today. Have not had either one of them. The High West Campfire looked interesting. Label said: Made with straight Rye whiskey, straight bourbon whiskey and blended malt scotch whiskey.

Today I went to the gunsmith shop and he was at the range for an hour or so. What do I do for that hour? Saw a package shop a couple blocks away. In the last week I have spent my monthly allowance.

Had the High West at the distillery. It’ pretty delicious. Was my favorite of the flight that I tried. Hope you like it!

One of the Facebook groups that got closed down today.

BSM page

It was bad.

To paraphrase:

It was if 50,000 voices suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced. I fear something terrible has happened.

In NC at my local ABC. It was the last bottle. We have a pretty good bourbon and whiskey selection normally. I normally miss the rare stuff when it comes in. Guy at the counter remembered talking to me about bourbon on another trip in and pointed it out to me.

How did you like the Blade and Bow? I have a bottle stashed at the cabin for the next visit. Hoping it was worth the few extra $ over my normal Woodford’s.

It's not bad.

But it's not good.

Marketing preying on the hype.

Tonight while going to dinner I asked (had to have permission for the wife) if we could stop by the package shop to see if there is any secondary market for some of those fifths from the 70's. Before I left I had to ask the question since it is Tuesday (when they get their major shipments) if they had anything put up in the back. To my surprise he said he had 5 bottles of Blantons. One came home with me. Back to the question if there is a market for the older bottles and the answer was maybe.

Had some of the small batch select today. Loved it!

Just picked up a small $20 bottle of Knob Creek.

Real good.

The Netflix special on Bourbon when Booker explained how to taste whiskey is a great tool to use. I do it every time now and enjoy whiskey much more now.

That was a good "documentary".

If it's the same one I watched it was called "Neat: The Story of Bourbon".

Was that the same one you saw?
