The Fire Challenge, Darwin at work or are people just stoopid

There is a current events story on TV and the web about youths I would assume mostly that dowse themselves in flammable liquids, set themselves on fire and then presumably jump in a tub full of water. Several participants have predictably ended up in the Burn Ward of their local hospital. Is this Darwin at work? Extreme boredom or is current society just breeding abject stupidity? Hey yall, watch this!

Nothing new, really. How long have people put some rubbing alcohol on their hand etc and set it on fire for the effect?

Hell, one of our members used to have an avatar of just that - a middle finger in the air, on fire.

One dude dowsed homself with lighter fluid and then jumped in a tub. Just was never that bored. You can tell by the righteous indignation that the parents were never invited to the Mensa pic nic.

People are stupid. They have been for all of time. Look at some of the crap people did in the roaring 20’s.
