2 Tankers attacked in Hormuz Strait

I’ll bet we start escorting tankers like we did in the late 80’s.

I remember getting letters and pics from my dad when he was deployed escorting Kuwaiti tankers near the Strait of Hormuz in the summer of 87

PS - I think you meant “attacked” in your thread title ;)

We are producing such a surplus of oil in this country that we are now exporting oil elsewhere. We need to keep all our oil here, pull all our crap out of the Middle East and let everyone over there kill each other off. There has been war in the Middle East for thousands of years, our presence there will never change it for the better, only make it worse.

Halliburton doesn't make as much money during peace time.

Needs to be repeated again.

Things we don't need to be doing:

1. Starting another war in the middle East.
2. Getting involved in a another war in the middle East.

Iran has zero reason of provoking us into and zero hope of "winning" a war with us. I'm not a tinfoil hatter but this whole incident is way too convenient.

This is all timely and convenient.

Kinda like a mass shooter using a silencer the week the SCOTUS is set to decide to hear or not to hear a case involving silencers?

As a former submariner, based on the pictures released so far, it doesn't look like a torpedo attack. Iran supposedly has a torpedo-launched antiship missile that arms some of their midget subs that could possibly have done it (the missiles are small - about 10 feet in length), given that the majority of the damage is above the water line and appears to be a hull breech from an impact fused weapons rather than a proximity fused weapon like a modern torpedo.

This whole thing is just hokey - John Bolton is a bastard that wants war with the entire world, and given our government's proclivities for inventing excuses to carry out it's preferred foreign policy, I really don't trust a single word coming from anyo organization attached to these United States - including the Navy in which I served, short of absolutely conclusive proof.

Iran has every reason to provoke the US. Aside from falsely manipulating the oil market, they know we are not going to go all Iraq and Afghanistan on them. They know that if we push back to hard do you win will come to their defense. There are proxies and the groups that they give money and arms to our happy 2 attack us interests here and there for years and years to come. They know they cannot win a conventional, straightforward War.

I will wait till more facts come out before I decide if this warrants tinfoil or filling up gas cans.

Hopefully it warrants neither and this blows over.

Why would Iran attack a Japanese ship and risk business dealing with the Japanese while a Japanese politician is in their country?
In fact, it's my understanding Iran wants Japan to ignore the US sanctions in place. This would kind of torpedo (lol) that happening.

I agree, I'm hopeful that this just kind of blows over. But we are no strangers to escorting and reflagging tankers.

Exactly. When they aren't killing "infidels" they are killing each other for being the wrong kind of Muslim.
Yet the "moderates" there will not even defend themselves against attacks by other Muslims because they will not kill another Muslim. That means the only ones left standing are the most violent inbred demented bass turds among them.

I guess Raytheon, Lockheed Martin, HK, Northrop Grumman, General Dynamics etc want bigger yachts for Christmas.

It's only a matter of time before we figure out that multinational corporations are funding terrorism to sell the government arms and services to fight the terrorists.

And just like that I woke up in a bloody cyberpunk story.

That's when we get Iron Man right?

Heard on the news this morning that the U. S. is seeking condemnation of Iran from other countries. It’s like they are wanting Coalition retaliation.

You know, if they did an Arc Light strike around the outside of that Iranian port a lot of this crap would stop.
Or go thru the middle of it, doesn't matter to me.

Just now reading this thread. I’m guessing that autocorrect got ya, but curious what it was supposed to say.

LOL, dude that was so long ago I have no clue what I was trying to say. That's like holding me accountable for what I say when I am drunk.

Looks like some pretty solid evidence that this one was purely on Iran.
